CHOICE ENGRAVING - BEWARE!

First the good. They did a nice job of engraving. BUT, when I got the bill, the "setup charge" which I thought would be for the whole order was applied to EACH PIECE. I did argue the point to no avail, but it wound up TRIPLING the cost I expected to pay. PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION when you get a price here. Next problem: call ahead to make sure they are open that day before you drive there. I drove 80 mile round trip to get there, and found a note on the door that they had closed at 2 PM that day, SORRY. No apologies when I had to make the second trip. Sorry, won't ever be back.... more

They should not even get 1 start. They say their turn around time is less than 2 weeks. Well it took nearly 2 months to get my order. By the time it was ready. My event had already passed. I had called several times & followed up by email. Each time they said they had to check with the vendor. I then went to the store and the husband was there. I asked him about my order and he actually tried to act like he wasn't there & hide in his office. When he finally came out he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. Then the wife called and said "We have part of your order ready". By then, it was too late. I had to pay extra to order through another company and have my order rushed. more

I have been doing business with Choice Engraving for years now and they have always gone out of their way to make my awards not only affordable, but also look like I spent MUCH more on them. The engraving design itself is always unique and of a much higer standard than other engravers I've dealt with in the area and Gaylene (the owner I think) has always been friendly and exceptionally helpful. I have also dealt with the other two gentlemen as well (though not nearly as much) and found both to be nice, but not quite as knowledgeable about prices and products as Gaylene. They were also able to explain to me why shopping local is much better than trying your luck with the so-called "more affordable" inferior internet products. A+ all the way! more

I feel I was robbed by Choice Engraving in Pearland. In short, here is what happened: -via phone discussed purchase of plaques for 4-6yr old girls softball team. -they gave a price of $268.00 and told that it would take up to two weeks to complete order -owner asked me to email her the order and date I needed the plaques by -less than 48 hrs after sending the order via email I sent a "STOP ORDER" email and left message on the business answering machine because the team coach informed me that changes had been made to the budget and that we were longer able to purchase the plaques. This was on the weekend - they were likely closed, therefore not working on the plaques. -4 days later I receive a phone call from Choice Engraving saying, "Your order is ready for pick up." -I returned the call, reminded them of the email and phone message. Their response was, "We don't always check email or messages." Funny, they take orders via email, but never check their inbox? -I apologized for any inconvenience but told her that I did not feel responsible for order. -She was very angry, and told me the price was now $498.00!!!! She said the price was increased because she needed to use a larger plaque. SHE NEVER INFORMED ME OF THIS!!!! No one would agree to $500.00 plaques for 4-6 yr olds!!!!! -I offered to pay her for the brass plates which I believe could be removed from the plaques so that the plaques could be used for another sale. -She threatened turning me over to collections and taking me to small claims court. I was happy to go to court. I feel I would have won. My hubby did not want to go through the trouble therefore he paid for the plaques!!! Unfortunately had I seen them before he paid for them I could have refused the order because they were not engraved as I had specified on my order!!!! -Bottom line....Choice Engraving is a very dishonest business. Please do not give them your business! more
