I and a friend stumbled upon this place when planning to go to Marcello's. It didn't stand out very well and if we didn't pass it to get to the pizza place, we wouldn't have even known it was there. We got curious and stepped inside. It was very comforably laid out and the atmosphere was fantastic. We both tend to excessively order the first time at a new restaurant to sample different items. I was completely floor with the ribs and chicken wings I got (and I know wings), while my friend was enjoying his brisket and fried pickles. If you want great BBQ, there is no better place. more

Memphis Blues Makes Me Happy 8/20/2005

Wow, if you like ribs, this is the place to enjoy a great dinner. Open and clean seating layout that gives you a sense of freedom to enjoy. No middle of the floor showroom tables that make you feel on display. All booths with warm and cushioned seats that ask you to settle into a good time. The waitress and staff are always pleasant and eager to please. We are always guaranteed quality here more

You Won't Be Cryin' The Blues 8/10/2005

Memphis Blues is a diner's delight with ambience galore, music to delight your ear and food to sooth your soul! The chicken wings (I don't even like chicken wings) are sweet and spicy, the pulled pork melts in your mouth and the hush puppies hot and crisp. After perusing the menu and placing your order sit back and let the music put you in a mellow mood. The great decor features many many blues and jazz posters/pictures and the seating is comfortable. Shortly your food will arrive hot and delicious leaving nothing to be desired! more

Good BBQ - Great Atmosphere! 8/10/2005

Finding good BBQ is difficult at best in York, but Memphis Blues has made it just a bit easier! Their St. Louis style BBQ is the best I've had in York so far. I'm from the south, so I know my BBQ! The smoked brisket is their best offering - try the sandwich platter! The atmosphere is smoky blues, and this is defined by the music played - from BB King to Elvis, and the decor - posters and albums of blues greats! The only drawback are the offerings of side dishes - many times I've gone only to find they're out of potato salad! They also need to offer baked potatoes, and perhaps increase the quantity of the side dishes served with the BBQ. more
