In my opinion, Comedy Cellar is one of the best comedy clubs in Manhattan. It's great to go there on Sunday nights when your options are bleak. Drinks are reasonable and the layout is a bit more intimate than some of the other comedy clubs. The small space, along with the brick wall behind the stage gives the place a very "New York" feel. This is a great place to bring friends who are visiting, as well as your date. They usually have a great line up, with two shows, back to back. If you get there late for the first show, they'll let you sit for half the first show and into the second show if you ask them. Highly recommended! more

This is a great deal. For only about $10, you get to see some hilarious performances. There are a bunch of comedy clubs in this area, but I recommend comedy cellar as the best. The drinks are reasonable for a comedy club, and I've never gone once and not thought that the comedian was amazing. Great place to bring a date as well. more

This place is awesome. They have great comedy every night. If you watch Best Week Ever, you'll be treated to some of the comedians from there. Also Dave Attell from Insomniac and Darrell Hammond from SNL (Bill Clinton, Ted Koppell) appear weekly. My friends have been there on nights when Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld have dropped in! There's also a cool restaurant upstairs to check out. more

My overall experience was amazing. The place is a wide area and the you can get a great intimate feeling from the venue. You are literally squeezed into the place and sitting right next to the person from the next table. Nevertheless, the quality of the comedians are amazing. We saw Colin Quinn, Modi, and a few others. Modi is hilarious. There are a lot of jokes about immigrants and sexual activities so be aware. The host was also very funny though too. They have great audience interaction. There are about 5 acts and the show is about 1.5hr. The drinks aren't expensive and you can get a free pass so you don't have to pay cover as long as you go to their website and make a reservation ahead of time. There's a suggested tip they calculate for you and helps you not deal with the math. The crowd was great that night. It's mainly composed of college students and a few out of towners. They can have 2,3, or 4 shows a day depending on the day. more
