Our kids want to go back tomorrow! 6/21/2011

We took the kids here for a weekend and have a wonderful time! Although the price is very high for everything we budgeted it in and made it happen! There is just so much to do at this place you really need a week but we did as much as we could over a weekend. The picnic area is very well laid out and no one bothered our stuff which I was a little nervous about. They have plenty of food options if you didn’t bring your own food and so many little shops where you are sure to find something as a souvenir to take home. The kids love the games so we spent some time playing games. Thank you to the park - we had a wonderful time and the kids are already saving up hard earned allowances for next year! more

Thrill Rides & Thomas The Train Too!! 1/5/2009

They have thrill rides for adults and also little kids place with Thomas the train and a lot of other rides for little kids too. Perfect place if you like big rides! It was clean and the staff was freindly. If you're looking for storybook atmosphere this isn't the place. If you're looking for somewhere you and the kids will really have fun look no futher!! The water park in the Summer is really fun too! They have 2 kids areas for kids under 12 and one for under 5. And alot of fun rides for everyone! We went all summer long! Lots of people of all ages can go! more

adrenaline junky's paradise 10/18/2006

If you do not like roller coasters, you are not my friend. For all you thrill seeking afficianados in the know, Six Flags Magic Mountain is paradise on Earth. Forget all that negativity about how unkempt the park is, and how unruly the crowds may be. The way I see it is that you come here strictly for the adrenaline rush. Leave all the aesthetics and bells and whistles to Bonfante Gardens. This place is for the whiteknucklers only. Besides, all the teenagers and *supposed* gangbangers (gosh, that word is dropped more than dishes at a Greek party these days) gives the "Mountain" a unique charm. It is located in greater Los Angeles after all. Did you expect anything less? As for the rides themselves, there isn't much more to say that hasn't been already. Tied for Cedar Point in Ohio for having the most coasters on the planet (17), not to mention the majority of them being record breakers in their respective categories, I'd definitely stick my neck out to say that nothing on the West Coast even comes close. http://www.rcdb.com/pd4.htm The best thing about it all is that there are plenty of good deals to be found. Look around, and you might notice Coke cans offering discounts, or even some two-for-one deals at the local supermarkets. I am able to use my season pass from Marine World (here, and at any other Six Flags nationwide), which makes it a killer deal. more

Hurricane Harbor - Los Angeles / Castaic/ Santa Clarita - yippeeeee and oh so fun! 7/7/2006

I am located in central California and the best water park that I can ever remember going to, is the Hurricane Harbor in LA.....this is the one place for some very wet fun! It is right by Six Flags Magic Mountain too, so these two places are some great family and friend fun! Which one to go to, we ask? Make it both! Enjoy everything from Taboo Tower's three thrilling body speed slides, to three twisting, turning open tube slides at Lightning Falls, Tiki Falls' two dark slides and one translucent tube slide, Castaway Cove, an exclusive children's water play kingdom, Shipwreck Shores, which offers water play activities for the entire family, the Forgotten Sea wave pool and The River Cruise lazy river. Great shows, events, group passes, season passes, this place offers just about everything imaginable! Average prices, everything is expensive, I think! Six Flags Magic Mountain 6/24/2006

The only Six Flags that I have ever been to is in Valencia, CA. I really loved it when I was a teenager, and I still even had a good time when my husband and I were dating and married before kids. Once we had the kids, it doesn't have as much appeal. Suddenly, I am all too aware that there is actually a risk to going on all of the rollercoasters. It's a really weird feeling. Magic Mountain was great because it wasn't as "boring" as Disneyland as far as rides go. Almost all of the rides were roller coasters and meant to get your heart pumping. The price for admission is also lower than Disneyland and they frequently offer coupons. There is a little bit of a problem with "gang looking" people there who seem to be there only to stir up trouble. I felt a little safer since they implemented a metal detector at the front gate, but it still made me feel a little uneasy. more

The Utimate Theme Park in America!!! 4/28/2006

This big-kid (ME) had a blast here!!! I like this way better than DisneyLand. I even went on this roller coaster with my kids that went backwards...I laughed so hard that I cried!!! Life-size Bugs Bunny and Woody Woodpecker roam the streets which are lined with millions of little shoppes. And you don't get a ticket ...they give you "Twickets"-ha, ha. That roller coaster I rode was called the Colossus. At the time I visited it was the World's Largest. My kids darned me to go on the Demon Drop so I did not to let them down. I even got my picture taken on front of a Play Boy Magazine Cover. They have this cool recording studio so my girlfriend, the kids and I made a recording of "My Girl" that they roared over their loud speakers..I about died! Like I said, I love Magic Mountain! more

Fun Fun Fun! 4/15/2006

Six Flags Magic Mountain is a great theme park for the whole family. They have some good rides for adults too. My little ones love coming here and admission is not as expensive as Disneyland. I like to come early to get the most out of my money so come prepared to spend all day. more

Awesome 4/14/2006

They have a lot of rides for people who want that little jerk in their stomach. It has a bunch of fantastic rides. The worst part about the place is "is the ride worth the line". the lines are ginormous there and many of the rides are very short. But if you're prepared for just enjoying the whole experience, you'll have a blast. more

So Many Roller Coasters 4/14/2006

Six Flags: Magic Mountain is the best theme park I have ever visited. They have so many great roller coasters such as X and Goliath. X's 360 rotation while zooming down the track is absolutely insane and the funnest and scariest roller coaster I have ever been on. Goliath's steep 250 foot drop from the top of the chain lift is a scary feeling because it feels like you are going to be lifted out of the cart because the only harness holding you down is a lap bar. They also have some goofy Looney Tunes characters that come out and take pictures with the visitors. more

Magic Mountain leaves a lot to be desired for those with little ones 4/14/2006

The children's section of Magic Mountain is pretty old looking. Most of the rides seem to be of "carnival" quality. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the park, but the rides in the children's section really looked like they could use some cosmetic help. My children thought it was wonderful, however, and wanted to spend the entire day on the 10 little rides offered in Bugs Bunny Land. They actually can't wait to go back, but from a parent's viewpoint, the section was really lacking in quality and cleanliness. more

Six Flags Magic Mountain 4/12/2006

This is a great theme park. In my opinion it is better for adults than children. This is because they have so many rides, but most of them are tailored towards adults. The park is not for the faint of heart. They have some exciting rides that will get your adrenaline pumping. more

World Class. 4/1/2006

This is a great amusement park. We drive down from the central coast to come here a few times a year. The best coaster in my opinion is definitely the X. Once you've been on that I really have a hard time going on anything else because they all pale in comparison. The waits are similar to other parks and for the great coasters they can be hours long. Before you go look around for coupons that are various places because you can save a bundle on admission. more

Amusement! 2/6/2006

Recently, went here again. Great theme park! Fun rides. Fast paced, speed, gravity defying rides. Family fun packed amusment park great for social gatherings. Always excellent to get away from work for a fun weekend at an amusement park. California visitors must go! Many rides not good for poor health people. But even if you don't go on the ride it's great to hang out and enjoy! more

Six Flags Magic Mtn 12/27/2005

For roller coaster enthusiasts this is the best amusement park around. They have a huge array of crazy roller coasters that will cause even a diehard fans stomach to roll. There is a small area of childrens rides as well as an assortment of other rides for adults. It is often crowded in the summer and due to the large amount of thrill rides the crowd is often young (teenagers). more

Fun for thrill seekers 12/26/2005

I usually get a season pass to this place. I love roller coasters and Magic Mountain has the best ones out there! My favorites are Goliath and X. Unfortunately X always seems to have a min 2 hour wait and fast lane passes do not apply to X which is really lame. Magic Mountain is geared more towards adults who enjoy thrill seeking rides. They do however have a section of rides geared towards the kids. It's not as clean and hospitable as Disneyland, though. Some times you'll see troublemakers who are drunk or just wanna cause trouble which makes things quite uncomfortable. They also keep raising parking rates every year which is also annoying. Try to avoid the older rides if you don't want a rough going. Examples include Revolution, Viper and especially Psyclone. Avoid Psyclone if you don't like it rough. more

Magic Mountain 12/19/2005

This is definitely a theme park for thrill seekers. With its HUGE array of roller coasters of all types you can't go wrong if you love to get whipped around in all directions. This is not a place for the faint of heart. Downsides include huge crowds (long long lines), predominantly teenagers, and the fact that it gets very hot in the summer. more

Six Flags 12/10/2005

This place was very fun, but I wouldn't recommend it for smaller children. When I went here, there were people breaking the park rules and smoking marijuana, but the employees did nothing about it and when I wrote their corporate offices to tell them this they didn't care. Otherwise, the rides are fun and thrilling and this is a great place for thrill seekers. The paring is not bad, but the food drinks and souveniers are. I would suggesst taking a break and going to eat lunch at a place surrounding the theme park. The bathrooms weren't that clean either and the lines were long. I would say to go during the off peak season to avoid the long lines. Either way, it was well worth the wait. They also put out coupons for discount admission all of the time, so look for those. more

Tons of fun 10/22/2005

Six Flags Magic Mountain is heaven for the thrill seeker. This is not, I repeat, not good for kids below the age of 8 or so because you need to be at least 52' to go on the rides. Also, I'd recommend not to go if you have heart problems or if your pregnant. But if you are above 52' and are in great health be ready for the thrill of your life! The best ride in my opinion is X. Goliath comes close too though. Go on a Wednesday, there is nobody ever there on Wednesdays. more

Great theme park for the kids 10/10/2005

This park is pretty standard, yet unique. It features pretty much only roller coasters, and those who aren't fans will be left out. I went recently and forgot that I had a low tolerance for the twists and turns of the monster rides. However, if you love rides that tumble, twist, turn you upside down, there is plenty of fun to go around. There are also booths where you can win large stuffed animals! more
