We have been bringing our cats to BAH for several years. We did just switch vets, however, and I'm very glad we did.

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/12/2013

We have been using Brodie Animal Hospital for 7 years. They are kind and caring. The center is very clean and they are efficient. They are competitively priced for experienced animal doctors. more

Bryant Joey Dvm - Brodie Animal Hospital 1/16/2010

Dr. Bryant has helped us out several times with our dog Max. Max is super hyper and needs extra attention at the vet. Dr. Bryant helps Max feel comfortable and helps me keep Max calm during shots and general visits. more

Love these vets 9/11/2009

This is by far the best vet care my pets have ever had. I feel lucky and I am appreciative of all the vets and tech's that work there. I had a 2 year old dog I had to put to sleep and they could not have been more supportive. The are kind, intelligent and stay on the cutting edge with new procedures and techniques. It appears the only thing people are concerned about is costs and waiting times, really!! I base my opinion ONLY on their extraordinary care and concern for my babies! Love them!!!! Pros: Caring, compassionate more

1. Dentals are expensive no matter where you go (some places more than others) more

Go elsewhere 5/25/2009

I have never been treated so poorly - they will berate you if you don't go through with their suggestions. They wanted me to pay over $350 to have my 8 yr. old dogs teach cleaned. They said she needed to be put under to have the procedure done. Right! Also, I asked them not to take a heartworm test because she took heartworm pills and they performed the test anyway and charged me for it. They refused to take the charge off and also, as stated in another review, refused to approve an online purchase for flea prevention and heartworm that was cost effective. These people think they are above their customers in every way and I wouldn't waste my time. You will end up going somewhere else. more

TO EXPENSE 2/3/2009

I agree with grossly overcharging posted 10/2008. This is exactly what happened to me with my diabetic 12 yr dog. They do not like for you to use PetsMed even though they are cheaper and the Meds are pkg in ice packs and overnighted- i.e.Brodie $50.00 a vial - Petmeds overnights $38.00 a vail total on multi , I go through a vial every 31/2 weeks you do the math and Brodie had the nerve to hand me a letter about this. Watch out if you have several animals and they need rabies shots they will set up a appointment for each dog and charge office call and shot on each animal so shots can really be costly. They are all except one Vet I found very pushy on you need to do this and you need to that and it alls amounts to more $$$$$$$$$$$ be prepared to pay big if you use their services Pros: OFFICE STAFF O.K. Cons: EXPENSIVE AND VET STAFF DON'T AGREE WITH EACH OTHERS TREATMENT more

Nice people but grossly overcharging the customers 10/27/2008

I previously lived in Northwest Austin and took my pets to Northwest Hills Vet clinic, a clinic at which I was highly impressed with. My wife and I moved to South Austin six years ago. Upon the recommendation of a friend I took my two dogs in for their annual shots and was charged over $500. I felt like that was exhorbitant and started going back to Northwest Hills. Recently I decided to give Brodie Animal another shot. Although the staff is very nice they again charged me in excess of $500 for the annual visit. I also had to wait nearly two hours beyond the time of my scheduled appointment because the only vet on duty had a trauma emergency. I realize that trauma takes precedence, but was slightly put off that they only had on vet available on a Saturday morning. Northwest Hills always had multiple vets on duty so that if an emergency situation arises they could at least have someone else available to help you out. In addition, as I waited to check out after my two hour wait, the assistant at the counter (also very nice) took more than fifteen minutes to get my paperworkd processed and take my payment. Brodie also recommended that my pug get a teeth cleaning and extractions of two molars. The estimate on the cleaning and extractions was $1200. I called Northwest Hills the following day without divulging any amounts or that I had already received another estimate they quoted me a price less than half that amount. Brodie, nice people, but they are clearly overcharging their customers, and the service is a little slow and mismanaged. I would like to recommend them since they are friendly but the pricing is ridculous. Pros: My animals really liked the staff Cons: $$$$ and customer service more

Too big for their britches 7/16/2008

I've been taking my animals to Brodie for 3 years now and much like the Westgate Vet Hospital (where we were before), Brodie Animal Hospital has also gotten too big for their britches. I loved the care my animals were getting from the entire staff and it was priced reasonable enough but the bigger they have gotten, the more expensive they have gotten. We have started feeling more like a number (or a boat payment). Goodbye BAH. more

By FAR, the BEST VET in Austin! 5/20/2007

This hospital has always been, by far, the best in Austin. They genuinely care, they're professional, and they work hard to insure that your pet is healthy. I've read some negative reviews regarding cost- well, you get what you pay for and BAH is 100% worth the cost. I'm a strong believer that if you can't afford GOOD healthcare for your pet, you probably shouldn't HAVE a pet. Pros: Excellent care and great staff! Cons: Far away from me more

you get what you pay for-if you want quality attention-go to brodie animal hospital 2/10/2007

i love & trust brodie'. they have been so good to me & my dogs.i have adog with cancer & they have fit me in during a crisis at 15 min. before closing on a sat. I ADORE DR.WERNER!!!!!!after talking to him, i feel very uplifted ,taken care of & understood. i think these vets are very knowageable & open to learning new treatments.AS LONG AS DR> WERNER IS AROUND, I WILL BE TOO! sincerely, nancy miller, tigger miller,& Pros: great equipment, great vets, throuough computer records Cons: exspensive more

Very Expensive 7/9/2006

Wow, be prepared to takeout a loan once you get the bill. Pros: Good Vet Cons: Very Very Expensive more

Pricey! 11/15/2005

Brodie is expensive and prices just went up even more for a basic visit. They do have some good people there but my very favorite DVM took a sabbatical from the practice and I couldn't justify the cost not to have my pets seen by her. However, the facility sparkles and office/front-end staff are friendly and helpful. If they would bring their costs down, I would consider returning there. Pros: Clean facility Cons: Expensive more

TOO EXPENSIVE 9/19/2005

Expensive!!! I took my dog in because we thought she broke her tail. They charged us close to $400 for xrays from all angles and then told us she sprained her tail. Normal visits to the doctor are well above $100 every time. Most of the visits took an hour and 1/2 for routine exams. Then they refused our prescription to 800petmeds for heartworm pills because they decided that they no longer like petmeds and didn't bother to tell us about it. We were never able to make an appt for our dogs without 1-2 days notice. Only one of the 4 or 5 vets was very nice and knowledgable. Feels like they run their hospital like a bank. $$ more
