Best

I liked The Bra Patch. The staff was nice and helpful. It's a cute little boutique. The bras are beautiful. I found a bra I liked with no problem. I am going back there again...

Worst

Disappointed in their selection and they tend not to carry anything for smaller band/larger cup. If you are in the triad area, I recommend trying A Sophisticated Pair in Burlingt...

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/8/2013

I have always had a hard time being fitted for bras. In June 2009, I traveled to Charleston, SC to visit an older cousin with the hope that she would be able to help me find a ""good"" bra. Every where she suggested failed me. I had been married 1 year, and she was tired of hearing me cry over lack of support from my bras, so she did some online research and found Bra Patch in Raleigh, NC. Since I live in Greensboro, NC, I did not mind the drive...praying that it would be worth it.\r \r I e-mailed and made an appointment for Fourth of July weekend. The first thing that caught my eye was ""Specializing in Hard-to-Fit Sizes"" on their website. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first, because I had heard that before. When I left the store, I was so excited that I texted everybody to tell them that I finally had some ""lift"" in my life. I saw my cousin that afternoon at a family cookout, and she will tell you that my smile was so big, and I told her ""who knew that bras went higher than 48DDD."" The down side is that I only have 2 colors, but I can deal with that. :)\r \r Having a great fitting bra gives you confidence. I tell everyone that I meet about the Bra Patch. In fact, the Sales Associates where I purchase the majority of my clothes has begun referring customers there.\r \r I will continue to recommend Bra Patch to everyone I know. more

The best bra store I have ever been to! Personal service was amazing. I have always had trouble finding my size and they had a great selection. This is the best store, I will never shop anywhere else! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/8/2012

They didn't have my size, which was annoying because I heard they were supposed to be all about having sizes. I just need a 32b, although I was hoping to try a 31 b or c if there was such a thing. Nope. They think rib cages start at 34, just like most stores. Not special! more

If i could give this place 0 stars i 6/5/2012

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. I have been there many times and received awful service. They judge costumers the second they walk in the door. they don't know how to size some one properly. Their idea of sizing some is give them a bra that sorter works, just to make a sale. If you buy something from there you only have 3 days to bring it. I am big on supporting the local community, but i have had enough with this place and will never be back!!! more

Found many of the same bras on sale at Nordstrom 4/23/2011

I have shopped at The Bra Patch for my last few bras. I have always found a bra that fit, but it is such an ordeal with the lack of adequate fitting rooms and low staffing to client ratio. Today, my family went to Nordstrom at Southpoint Mall and Nordstrom Rack across the street from the mall. I found ALL my favorite styles and brands I typically purchase at The Bra patch were ON SALE between Nordstrom and Nordstorm Rack. (I am hard to fit, so I was thrilled) At Nordstrom, we didnt have to wait for fitting rooms, we were able to try on ourselves. (can't stand that constant supervision at The Bra Patch). The Nordstrom fitter offered help if needed. Very well worth a drive to Durham. The overall selection at Nordstrom was prettier, more stylish, and RETURNABLE. I noticed coordinating panties (various styles) paired with most of the bras. (nice touch). The Bra Patch is a nice little local specialty shop. However, I discovered the grass is greener at Southpoint! more

good experience 3/29/2011

I just came back from the bra patch. first off, let me say that i am no stranger to pricey bras. no one ever has my size and when they do, its costs money. I wear a 34G. i got off work at 5:30 and booked it over there, b/c they close at 6:00. got there at 5:45. i was looking around, checking stuff out when a lady asked me if i would like to try some stuff on. i told her that i was just going to look today, because i didnt want to hold them up past their closing time. she assured me that it was not an imposition at all and i began to try on bras. i walked out at 6:15 with one bra that holds the girls up nicely. i want to see how things go with the bra before i buy more, as it was a little pricey. overall, a good experience and i have a feeling that i will be going back again and again :D more

Long wait 3/26/2011

My fitter was Candy. Apparently, she got out of bed on the wrong side. If I had not had such a great first impression of the store when I walked in, I would have possibly left upset. All of the staff (with the exception of Candy) extended warm vibes and extensive personal service to all the clients. I overheard others waiting speaking of how impressed they were with the staff and the time they extended to each and every customer. I also noticed everyone left with a purchase and a smile! more

FINALLY, SOMEWHERE I CAN TRUST 3/4/2011

i HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM THE BRA PATCH AND HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!! THE FIRST BRA I TRIED ON FIT, THEN SHE GOT ME ONE THAT FIT MUCH BETTER... I AM VERY HAPPY AND WILL BE GOING TO THE BRA PATCH REGULARLY. PRICES ARE GOOD TOO. NOW I HAVE TO GET USED TO MY GIRLS LOOKING UP AT ME! more

The best bra shop in town! 7/28/2009

I've gone to Pennyrich for last year and half. After three kids, breastfeeding.....they need all the help I can give them and Pennyrich does just that. So, now that I am getting remarried I new exactly where to go for my strapless, backless bra. I went without my dress...duh! I ran back home grabbed it and they fitted me, and recommended Dottie Valentine to alter it....Dottie is amazing. The whole experience was amazing. Plus, the bra was the cheapest in town or on the web. Victoria Secret should be ashamed of themselves...they are amateurs and not worth the money. If you want to get rid of neck and back pain then go get properly fitted for a bra. They always have plenty of 32D's in stock. Pros: Well trained staff Cons: None! You get what you pay for! more

Great service, good prices, great quality 4/19/2008

For the large-busted woman, this store is the best place to shop. I desperately needed a new bra after nursing my son. I went in on a lunch break and 15 minutes later I was walking out with 2 well-fitting bras. The owner helped me find the best fit, even though it turned out not the be the most expensive bra I tried on. Some of the bras were high-priced, but my bras were $38 which is not any more expensive than a store at the mall. I have been back several times. My $38 bras are almost a year old and still look brand new. The quality is worth the price and the service was all that you could ask for. more

Extremely happy!! 2/7/2008

I am so glad I didn't listen to the negative feedback! I am so happy with my experience here!\r I got a personalized fitting (which i was made to feel very comfortable!) where a got a personalized fit! She then brought in such a huge variety of bras, which i could never find with my size before. They were cute, colorful, and most importantly a wonderful, supportative fit! I left with 4 bras and special detergent for them today, while ordering a specialty strapless for my size! I will definantly be back, and recommend all my friends!!! Pros: Customer service, selection, high quality and wide variety! Cons: Slightly pricey, but its expected for such quality!!! more

You definitely will find something here. 10/27/2007

When you are large chested and need new bra's bad reviews or not you go to check out the place. I was glad I was not put off by the reviews. The owner worked with me until we found something that fit properly and looked nice. She was very honest. We had one bra that fit nice but made me look like a sumo wrestler she straight out told me that wasn't the bra for me. She brought me a different bra that was actually less expensive and we both agreed that fit me better. Price wise I thought their prices were great. The bra's I normally purchase are $58 a piece this new brand she showed me was $38 boy was I happy. Another bra I purchased was $45 and I normally have purchased the same brand online and elsewhere for about $48 - $52 so prices aren't bad. You need to realize once you go up past a DD you are going to have to pay money for a good fitting bra. Especially if you range from and E to J cup. Also for you women out there who think you look frumpy its that you are not wearing the right size bra. Department stores that measure you put you in a larger band and smaller cup so they can make a sale because they don't carry the larger cups. This won't happen here because they carry all the larger cups so you will get the proper size bra. For example a person who really is a 36H would be placed in a 42DDD or 44DD bra in a department store since their cups do not go higher. Now you tell me how much support that will give you. This place is definitely worth checking out. especially if you don't like the bra's you have now. Go check it out and just buy one bra to see if its worth it. If you like it go back and get more. I purchased 3 and am going back next week to order more. Pros: Large selection, prices are reasonable, Cons: Limited stock not all items are displayed there are things in back they can bring in. If you want to purchase more than 2 of certain sizes in one style you might have to order it and come backl more

bra patch ... give it a try 8/11/2007

After reading the bad reviews on this site about the Pennywise Bra Patch, I decided to see how ""bad"" it was. It was great. The new owner, Ruth, is helpful and personable. Twenty minutes after walking through the front door with no idea what size bra I now wear, I walked out with three bras and two pairs of underwear. I could have parked in the 15-minute parking space! \r \r The bad reviews predate the new owner's purchase of the business, so give it a try. I was not thrilled with my ""new"" bra size, but it is the correct size whether I like it or not. Who wants to go from a 36C to a 32Long? Pros: personal attention, friendly staff Cons: a little pricey, but worth it if you get the right size more

A real bra store 8/9/2007

I was worried when I saw the other reviews, but when you have a tiny body and extremely large breasts there are few options. I am so glad I didn't listen to the few dissatisfied customers. There was a continual stream of customers at the store which I think is a testiment to its quality. As long as you wait your turn, you will get whatever you need. Everything isn't displayed, but I told the woman I needed something that would work under a strapless dress (tiny waist, large breasts) and she brought me exactly what I needed and I wasn't even sure it existed! I actually spent half what I was anticipating. Pros: great selection for large busted women Cons: you definitely have to ask for help cause everything isn't displayed more

Very disappointing 11/21/2006

I was recommended to go to the Bra Patch to find a bustier to wear under my wedding dress. The shop was dingy and run down and the owner didn't even acknowledge my presence for about ten minutes. She was busy helping other customers, but the least she could have said was ""I'll be with you in a couple of minutes."" When she finally decided to help me, she put me in the changing room, measured me, pronounced me a size, criticized the bra I was currently wearing (it was laundry day, what does she want from me?) and brought out a bustier. She didn't even finish putting it on me before she said it was too big and she went and retrieved a smaller size. The smaller size made me look HORRIBLE. It was way too tight, and when she removed it, I had marks on my skin. She didn't ask me what I was looking for in a bustier (namely, one that I can breath in but that supports me) she just expected me to buy the one thing she let me try on. I told her I'd have to come back with my dress to try them on together and high-tailed it out of there. I'm not going back. Pros: large sizes Cons: limited selection, rude service, dingy shop more

Terrible customer service 7/29/2006

I had called the day before to get store hours, told ""owner"" (I guess never introduced herself) that I would be driving in (two hours away) the next day had wanted to be fitted for a Pennyrich, asked about appointments and was told ""it's first come, first serve""...I thought okay... Got there the next day around 2ish and when I enter and announced that I had called, the young girl said, ""sorry she just left to pick up friend at hospital....but I can fit you""....I'm thinking okay....the girl measured me and said she got a 36 (now mind you I haven't been a 36 in years) acted like she didn't want to touch me and then brought in a 36 (which I couldn't even get fastened) then brought in a 38, which fit but then I asked, ""Is this a Pennyrich bra?"" and she replied, ""Oh not, I can't fit those, they are totally different sizes."" I asked her to call the ""owner"" who replied that if I wanted to wait, she might be back in an hour or so....needless to say I wasn't waiting.....agree with the other reviews, I will never darken their doors again...went to Belk, they had fitters on site and bought a Playtex product..... more

Owner is rude and Customer Service is Terrible. 5/22/2006

owner did fitting for me. I did leave with a bra. Three hours later I was ripping it off. Worst bra I have ever worn. I called to ask if there were any exceptions to her return policy. She said, too bad, I was happy when I left. She was rude on the phone. I told her that I would be sure to tell others of my experience with her customer service. She said THATS OK, IM SURE EVERYONE THAT KNOWS YOU KNOWS WHAT YOUR LIKE, AND HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! Not only was I not rude, I had been hoping for a peaceful solution. I am not only a very nice person to do business with, I am also a business owner and know the value of good customer service. I will never get near her shop again. I hope that she learns the value of her customers. Faith0399 Cons: NO REFUNDS, NO EXCHANGES, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE more

Can't take criticism 3/10/2006

I have been there a few times and found the owner a little snobby and standoffish. My mother went to get fitted, bought a bra and ordered another one. I went to pick up the second bra and when I told my mom I had she said that I shouldn't have since it didn't fit her right. When she came back into town we returned to see if we can do an exchange. Everything was still in the bag, never opened. The owner asked what was the problem and my mom told her it didn't fit. The owned got nasty and said it was my mothers fault that it didn't fit. Once my mom was walking out the door and said she would never come back the owner said, no wait hold on we can do an exchange or something. No Thank You!! Pros: can order any size Cons: rude, location more
