I read the good reviews on the internet and decided to try it. I have to say I was less than impressed. I had a great massage but the pedicure left a lot to be desired. Minimal to no massage, owner acted like it was an imposition to bring in the nail polish colors, a foot soak and polish but little else. I feel like I get a much more professional pedicure at Hoa. I would not go back. If you are in the market, I would say to look elsewhere. But...Mandy did give a great massage. more

I'll be back! 1/31/2011

I got my first facial here in October right before my wedding and although I lack previous experience I thought it felt great. Very warm and relaxing, from the slippers at the front door, to the foot soak and great personalized skin tips. For my combination and sensitive skin (not to mention stomach and allergy problems), Joyce recommended aloe and my face has been clear for 2 months! I wish I went here sooner! Although some may want a quieter experience with no talk of the product, I like the way Joyce mentioned what might be better for my skin without selling me anything. She is a very passionate person which makes her knowledgeable and good at her job. more

I feel great 1/21/2011

Wow this place really made me relax. I'm so high strong and cant relax, but just getting out of the car and walking in the spa I started to relax. I loved the foot soak, then a massage, who knew I could unwind. Needless to say - the best experience all the way around. more

What I know for sure 1/20/2011

I have had the pleasure of having my services at the Spa for sometime now and I must say I have never had Joyce do anything but treat me with respect on the table! She had always given me the attention that I needed. I totally understand that as a full business owner she must ensure that her spa is prpoerly run and the need to leave my presence is called for. I have never had her complain to me about her personal issues ever. Many businesses have prouducts that they feel will be useful to ones situation and point out that product and its benefits as part of a recommended wellness program. Professionalism and courtesy is what I have always recieved at the Spa for the Woman. more

Has gone way, way downhill........ 1/18/2011

This used to be a decent place to go - I have been going here off and on for almost 4 years. However, in the last year, service and scheduling have been poor, as well as the quality of the reatments themselves. The last two treatments (both facials) were spent with the Owner griping about her issues with other people and the economy and how bad business is, as well as essentially using you for a captive audience to push Isagenix diet/weight loss products. She even tries to hand you a little video player to watch a marketing spiel while your feet are soaking(!), and heavily pushes it on you as a cure-all for you and anything in your entire family (including mental illness...hello?) while you are stuck on the table having your treatment done. Every single conversation is steered toward how Isagenix can help you, and it gets very annoying, very fast. Plus she writes down a website for it and hands it to you as you walk out the door. Not exactly relaxing whatsoever! I found these aggressive sales tactics to be both unprofessional and inappropriate, and definitely not the relaxing experience I was paying for. I had not counted on being a captive marketing audience while having skin treatment done; rebuffing pushy sales lines is hardly therapeutic. Not to mention if the owner has to play phone tag with you more than once, she will leave you a message stating she is "frustrated". (Gee, sorry I have a job and am not by my personal cell phone 24/7....) On top of that, she was over 30 minutes late to the first appointment, and cancelled another 1-2 hours ahead due to her own staff not showing up. I have left twice now feeling gypped and unrelaxed, and definitely I won't be back. Very disappointing and unprofessional. This place has lost focus that the point of a spa is to rejeuvenate and relax their customers, and not to sell commissioned diet supplement products. Rude. They need to turn it into an Isagenix retail store (a product, which I tried 5 years ago, by the way, and did not like) and be done with the facade that they are still trying to provide spa services. more

What a great get away! 10/12/2010

I just received a facial from Joyce at The Spa… and enjoyed every second of it. From the minute I walked in the door I was able to relax- it is a very private setting. I got to soak my feet fist which felt like a pedicure in its self then was whisked away into a room for my facial. Wow it was a lot more the bed was heated and I was so comfortable I could not tell the difference between any of my body parts it is a great feeling! My facial was relaxing and I left feeling amazing- and I still look amazing three days after. Thank you Joyce I will be back and you should try it- worth every penny! more

Very relaxing experience 2/2/2010

I went to this spa for the first time this last weekend. Joyce was very willing to discuss concerns I had over my skin and things I could to do help. Not once was there any push to buy any products - which kept it a relaxing experience. She provides more of a holistic experience versus just a facial and you're out the door. I even sent an email asking for help on what products I could use and received a response very quickly. I will definitely be going back! more

Great first experience! 12/18/2009

I'd never had a professional massage before and recieved this one as a Christmas gift, and I must say, it really set the bar. I really loved the slippers and foot soak while I filled out paperwork. I was able to choose which areas I wanted massaged, and figured since I was there, I might as well do the whole shebang and get a full body massage. Mandi, who gave me the massage, was so friendly and I felt very comfortable with her. And the whole place just oozed Zen, from the colors on the walls, to the decorations, to the water fixture and music... I would definitely go back. Pros: Beautifully decorated, very relaxing feel, comfy slippers Cons: You eventually have to leave. more

A Wonderful Massage 11/20/2009

I received a massage this week from Mandy at The Spa...for the woman who cares. What a wonderful treat! I carry most of my tension in my neck and chest, so she spent the entire hour focusing on those areas (plus the back). Ah, it felt so great! Pros: Personal Attention, Caring, Dedicated Staff Cons: Not in Downtown Seattle more

A facial? Oh, so much more than that! 9/6/2009

I went to Joyce at The Spa... for the woman who cares, for a facial. I had no idea of what was ahead. From the sea salt foot soak, to the last few minutes of the amazing facial (which included aromatherapy, steam, a masque, and a hand massage), I was PAMPERED! It was impossible not to fall asleep during the masque stage, and it was a power nap that was refreshing and energizing. If you've thought about it - stop thinking and GO! Pros: Caring, thorough, peaceful, attentive Cons: none more

Best facial I EVER had 7/29/2009

I received a gift certificate for my birthday to The Spa...for the woman who cares and at first I was a bit skeptical since I was used to going to of a more "commercial type” spa especially coming from Los Angeles. I have to say this spa far surpasses the "commercial type" spas and I will never get a facial anywhere else. Joyce was so pleasant, very accommodating and a pure joy to meet. She is VERY knowledgeable when it comes to your body and skin and my face has NEVER looked better. I will definitely be returning and I will also be purchasing the products she used on my face since I've had the best results ever. I am 39 years old just starting to notice some lines and spots and in desperate need of hydration and the product line she sells there, HydroPeptide™, is a LIFE SAVER. Do yourself a favor and try this spa AT LEAST one time and then make a decision. You will not be disappointed. more

womens beauty 7/21/2009

Had a lash tint and leg wax on sunday. Love having a lash tint - don't need to wear mascara for a month! and very inexpensive. Also had lip, chin and leg wax done. Joyce uses high quality products and focuses on organic products. Usually I break out after a wax or in about a week get ingrown hair - but whatever she does not give me that affect. was not very painful and went fast. will go again. Pros: no redness or ingrown hair Cons: none more

Great Experience 7/21/2009

I had my first waxing experience here and found Joyce to be extremely informative and understanding. She explained the benefits and even took a little longer just to make sure my first experience with waxing was a good one! The foot soak before hand was exquisitely delightful. I would highly reccommend this spa to anyone who is looking for a small comfortable place to relax and I know I'll definitely be back! Pros: Informative, Friendly, Understanding more

My FACE! 4/17/2009

I had a facial at this spa and could not believe how many compliments I got over the next month. Friends would ask me how I managed to look younger than the last time they saw me. Even my husband noticed a big difference. I cannot wait to go back and treat myself again! Joyce has been friendly and engaging, a pleasure to talk to and very accommodating. Pros: Terrific Facial Cons: She doesn' t have a spa in LA where I am about to move more

Sadly, not the best experience. 3/23/2009

I scheduled a Girls Day Out package for my daughter and I to reconnect after she moved away for college. The owner, Joyce, and I discussed how fabulous this package would be for us. When we arrived we were told one massage therapist did not show up that day so our 60 minute massages and pedicures would be staggered and we would not be together, defeating the purpose of our special afternoon. I let Joyce know that this is not what I intended and that we would reschedule for a day she could accomodate us. Note that she did not contact me to let me know one of her staff no showed, or I would have rescheduled sooner. Her spa was very cold (she told us we might want to keep our coats on) and dark, also. My daughter and I went to another day spa and had a beautiful afternoon together but when I got home Joyce had left a message chewing me out and letting me know she was going to charge my credit card in full for services we did not recieve because her staff member did not come to work! I drove 45 miles to this spa for a very bad experience and would not recommend it to others. I also cancelled the credit card so she could not harm me financially. Pros: None on my visit Cons: See Review more

Feeling great! 2/8/2009

I woke up one morning with a very bad back spasm. It was hard to get out of bed let alone get into my car and drive somewhere to receive a massage. My girlfriend reccomended Cy, at this Spa. I called and was able to get in that day later in the afternoon. I was so sore and stiff I really didn't expect much from one visit. Cy assurded me of his experience with spasms and so I tried to relax. He did a type of injury work or Lomi Lomi? I think, anyway I felt great, really great afterwards. I could bend over and move like the spasm never existed. Cy showed me some expercises, explained about water, which I don't drink enough of other than what is in coffee and beer. I also have insurance which will cover more treatments too. Happy to have met Cy and this Spa. I will be back. Pros: parking, experienced, convienant, care and results! Cons: had to pay for it. more

Fantastic Treatment Massage! 11/6/2008

I fractured one of the bones in my forearm about 6 weeks ago and still couldn't straighten my arm out all the way. Cindy, their massage therapist who focuses on treatment, did an awesome job both relaxing me and taking care of my arm! She explained what she was doing and how I can help my arm heal more quickly at home. Cindy even had enough time to release all the neck and shoulder tension I had and give me a fantastic back massage on top of it! The day after the massage I was able to straighten my arm with minimal discomfort. She'll be seeing me soon, even when my arm is fully healed! more

Really Great Service 11/3/2008

So i have a had a couple of massages, and i do have to say that this was a great experience. Me and my mom got the girls day out package from my/our aunt/sister. I have never been somewhere where they treat you so well, greet you at the door, feed you lunch, give you great conversation. It was a pleasure going and it was nice just to sit and chat with Joyce (the owner). Thank you again...I will defiantly be back Pros: Great massage, nice people Cons: None more

Pure Bliss :) 4/30/2008

Absolute Bliss. Been there twice and both times have been fantastic. The facial is wonderful and so very relaxing. The Head and Shoulder massage is heavenly. Joyce is fantastic at what she does and does not try to sell you a load of products, but gives her advice in a very casual, non pushy way. Can't wait to go back again for more pampering. Thank you. Pros: Very Relaxing, pleasant atmosphere. Great Advice. more
