As an educator, school administrator, and, most importantly, a grandpa, I would most certainly recommend this facility to anyone who asks. I was amazed the first time I stepped inside the building at how things were set up and what the children were doing. VERY IMPRESSIVE, to say the least. My granddaughter loves it there. My daughter and son-in-law are very pleased with everything. I appreciate the security that they have. If there were problems with the employees, trust me, the state would deal with it immediately. more

This place is TERRIBLE!! They don't comfort kids who are upset. They don't feed these kids enough.. there are NEVER seconds!! You get charged for all the ""good stuff"" but never see evidence of the good stuff. Majority of the teachers are rude and lazy. They text real well though.. that's all I ever saw.\r \r My daughter couldn't go outside due to medication so the staff decided to punish her and placed her in a 2 year old classroom during naptime. She was 7 years old!!! That's against licensing to begin with! They called me to pick her up because she was inconsolable and she wouldn't tell them what was wrong. I picked her up and my daughter told me she was crying because they sent her to the ""baby room"" AND while she was crying a teacher told her, ""Sit your a** down right here"". I guess they didn't want her waking up the 2 year olds... GUESS WHAT!! SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IN THERE ANYWAY!!!!\r \r Worst place ever. They steal your money and can't give you a break down... but they sure are good at breaking down the kids. Disgusting. more

We love Country Home Learning Center. We looked at other schools, Montessori, Stepping Stone, Rocking Horse Academy and agreed that CHLC had the best amenities, a competitive price, and the ratio of kids to staff members was impressive. Giving the kids more individual attention and having a great curriculum causes them to thrive. Our son is going to be 3 this month and is successfully potty-trained with the reinforcement that he gets at CHLC and he loves to count, say his letters and brings us beautiful artwork every day. We love it so much we are even moving to full-time instead of a couple days a week. They provide meals and healthy snacks in your tuition and the staff members are very friendly and helpful. The amenities are also great. They have an indoor and outdoor playground, a waterpark, a computer classroom, and a soda shop. They are always doing fun activities. We love it! more

We have loved being here for over a year. We are moving farther away soon and will travel the extra time just to keep our son enrolled. If you want a great place with great hours, great service and great staff then this is the place for you. One tour and you'll want to be a kid again too. We hate being apart from our son but are glad we found such a great place to put him and watch him grow and learn. more

So Happy!! 11/23/2011

My daughter has been at this Country Home location since 2007. From the moment I dropped her off for her first day I felt completely at ease. The office staff was very warm and welcoming and teachers seemed enthusiastic and happy. The curriculum is wonderful!! I loved bringing home art projects and worksheets, and really getting to see what she was learning while I was away. She always seemed excited to go to school and loved her teachers. I highly recommend this learning center to anyone looking to enroll their child somewhere they are going to be educated and encouraged to grow in their development. more

VERY POOR CARE!! 3/7/2011

My daughter Attended the North Austin location for several months. This is a very poorly run childcare center. My daughter CRIED and SCREAMED every day when I brought her here, for several months. Finally I switched her to a new place and she was fine after 1 week. They never have the same staff. The administrator sits up front in a dress and high heals and really does not interact with the children. After being there for several months, when I made my Bi-Weekly payments, they had to keep asking me my daughters name. AND Instead of TELLING the parents not to park up front. THE DAYCARE called the FIRE marshells to come out and write Tickets to moms for parking out front. My mother parked there and got a ticket and the Fire marshell told they that they daycare asked them to come out. They whole time I went there NOBODY ever told me we could not park there. They have a beautiful play area, Gym and Soda shop. But I think it stays Beautiful because they don't really use it. more

Great place 9/7/2010

I am confused about all the negative comments because my children have attended either in their daycare/pres-school or after school programs. They have gone there for over 2 years, and we've always been pleased. Any time there was an incident, we got notified, and they have always been very good about informing of daily situations. \r \r My daughter got a very good pre-school education, and she always loved going to school. She never complained about being hungry, and in fact, I have seen them give her seconds on many occassions.\r \r The teachers she has had have been very pleasant to work with, and they are caring.\r \r My son has had fun in their after school. Now granted, they don't let kids just sit there and play video games all the time, so maybe that is why some find it boring. I like that kids have different activities for different days. They even did our family a favor by picking up at a school that was not on their original pickup list.\r \r The school has taken many strides in becoming more eco-friendly too, which I believe is a great step in protecting our children. Not only that, the children participate in fun field trips, and I have never once worried about their safety.\r \r I would not say all of this if it weren't true, and this is coming from a mom that pulled her kid on the spot from a different daycare due to all the red flags. I would never let my children be in a less than stellar place. more

My son Loves this place! 7/2/2010

I am sorry to read that Nichole had such a bad experience. However, my daughter attended the Escarpment location for 11 yrs and loved it. My son attended for 7 yrs and LOVES it very much. He is upset that I work at home now and he has to stay home over the summer. We intend to return to after school care in the Fall. My son has made some of his very best friends there. The staff treats him well and his enjoyment of the daycare is what I base my opionion on. He makes me pick him up late and gets mad if I arrive early. Pros: Friendly, concerned staff. Fun activities for the kids Cons: my son says there are no drawbacks. more

WORST CHILDCARE EVER!!! 6/21/2010

I am currently in the process of filing a complaint against this company with the better business bureau. My son was neglected (left in wet and dirty diapers until it leaked onto his clothes daily, left unwatched so that his head was hurt/then denied accedent, ect.) I feel like the worst mother for letting my son stay as long as he did. Please do not enroll here if you care for your child. When i tried to talk things out with the directors i was told that i made things up, they would give me no proof of incedents just laughed at me and moved on. My heart aches for the way my son was treated. Cons: NEGLECT, ABUSE, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE more

There are two Country Homes. Country Home on Escarpment is the Center with TERRIBLE issues. 12/4/2008

I have personally witnessed the following and am making a report to TDFPS. \r An 18 month old child spanked when reaching for another child's food.\r Staff in Toddler room serving children less for lunch so the staff can eat them - children still hungry.\r Screaming in most classrooms - staff screaming at children - so lound it woke nappers.\r Toddlers allowed to eat food off the floor, so staff doesn't have so much to clean up - REALLY!\r When children are hurt or upset, no one comforts them.\r This program needs to be shut down or teachers should be hired to know how to interact with children appropriately. more

Great quality Childcare 9/22/2008

I cannot believe the previous two comments posted. Obvioulsy you can tell that it must have been an ex-employee who feel the need to make what ever type of immature stabbs at the employer. My two children have been going to Country Home for 6 years. They absolutely love the center, love their teachers and enjoy going. There are times that their is staff turn over, but the management does a good job at making sure that all new teachers a throughly screened. I have never had any negative things to say only positive comments. Pros: Great field trips, water park, huge playgrounds, indoor playground, movie theatre Cons: parking more

my little gilr was scared on her first day and they seemed annoyed when she was in tears as i left. within the day i had over three calls to my office to pick her up, she was not ill but they would not comfort her at all. Cons: parking more

AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! 9/17/2008

my son goes to the after school program, he complains of boredom. he comes home hungry because they limit the food that the children can eat. the staff is the most uncaring bunch of substance abusers you will ever meet! my child scraped his knee and a MALE employee refused to clean it, instead he told him to ""grow up"". This person also admitted to smoking an array of illegal things. and when we spoke to the director she refused to do any sort of substance abuse screen. i would never recommend this facility to anyone who cares for the wellbeing of their children!!! Cons: everything!!! more

Yes, I would recommend this center. 12/15/2007

I will give you my experience and hope that it will help you. \r I chose CHLC because of the variety of activities and social interactions that are scheduled daily to provide opportunity and exposure for learning. My daughter was 18 months when I enrolled her in August. I was returning to work after being at home with her for 8 months. So, I was a little biased in my selection, because I wanted a place that was a home away from home for my daughter, with ""social"" learning, as well. She was placed in the two year old class with great teachers. Every morning we bring our daughter in, we are greeted with smiling faces from the employees. Our daughter's teachers are always positive and they welcome us in by creating a nuturing environment. I make sure that I talk to everyone I see, because when I leave they are ALL responsible for my daughter's care. I have talked to the director, front office support, teachers from various classes, custodians, delivery personnel and I am confident...that I made the right decision when I leave her there. Everyone knows my daughter's name and always has positive things to say. Pros: Actively involved with your child, LOOK AT EVERYTHING, consider every developmental stage that your child would be going through at that center, they will show you Cons: class sizes more

Awesome School! 10/13/2005

I've been at country home for almost a year now and have been SOOOOO happy the whole time. If I ever had a problem it was immediately taken care of and the staff is ALWAYS very nice. My son tells me that he loves his teachers and that they hug him all the time. They're very laid back and don't seem stressed or uptight about their jobs. My son has learned a great deal and is very proud of himself every day when he comes home. I work with small children myself, so I know from experience that his reaction to school comes from constant praise and encouragement at school. Pros: not in one room, indoor play, shallow pool activity more
