Overdosed by Dr Randall Morris 3/11/2012

This office almost killed me. Plus I entered the hospital Memorial Herman NW Hospital under my own power but discharged on a walker. Diagnosis was my Congestive Heart Failure medicines were over- diagnosed (too strong). The hospital and Dr Kochar (ER) didn't even addressed my fluid retention and swollened ankles when I complained about the condition. I was carried up to Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock, then transferred to Temple. I was immediately referred to a transplant cardioloist and urologist who found that my prostate as holding back fluids. I was diagnosed with end-staged CHF. They catheterized me and drained 1 1/2 quarts of fluid from my body. They also had to bring my PT/INR up to acceptable level. 4 weeks later upon discharge I went from 205 lbs. to 167 lbs. and my ankle returned to their normal size. I complained about the swollened ankles to Dr Morris several times while living in Houston. Scott & White Hospital saved my life. These doctors actually talk with each other. Also they could view my records and treatments with a computer in any Scott & White facility. I'm still on the transplant list, but I can walk and drive again with no trouble. more

Dr. Mitschke great cardiologists office staff not so good 3/23/2009

Should you need a refill on your prescriptions, don't wait on these guys to get ahold of your pharmacists. It will never happen. Constant phone calls to this office and voice messages left are ignored. The billing office is incompetent. Never pay your co-pay with a credit card. They will retain this information and use it at will. All of a sudden you look at your credit card statement and there it is a charge out of the blue from Memorial Cardiology Associates. Once again, constant phone calls to this office and voice mail left are ignored. Promises to return phone calls are also ignored. Pay for your office visits with a check and notate it is for this business transaction only. These doctors are wonderful if you are willing to put up with the hassles of their office staff. Pros: The cardiologists in this office are second to none. Cons: The office staff is rude and incompetent more

MICHAEL MITSCHKE MD, CARDIOLOGY- SUPERB PHYSICIAN 2/27/2008

Dr. Mike Mitschke has been my cardiologist for over two years now. I have also seen Dr. Randall Morris when Dr. Mitschke was having a day off. I have always been very impressed with these two docs. They appear to be brilliant, they are informative, personable, and spend as much time with you as you need. The wait time in the office is generally short however understanding that cardiac problems are not scheduled and occasionally an emergency happens there has been occasion when I waited a short period of time while the Dr. was taking care of an emergency. It is a secure feeling knowing they would provide the same care for me if I needed it. When a medication was prescribed I was given a FREE sample. Just to make sure the medicine produced the desired result BEFORE I paid for the prescription. The office staff is wonderful, very helpful in fact. I would recommend Dr. Mitschke or Dr. Morris to anyone wanting an EXCEPTIONAL cardiologist. They even call you back in a timely manner. Pros: Brilliant, personable, likeable more

Dr. Jacobson, the heartless heart doctor! 1/12/2008

I had the mispleasure of speaking with Dr Jacobson tonight from my father-in-law's bedside at Memorial City hospital. He was stunningly rude to me. I asked him for an update on our dad's condition (who by the way had been in the hospital for 10 days and was worsening) and he proceeded to tell me how ""frustrating"" it was for him to have to explain things to me after having talked to and explained things to my husband and mother in law earlier in the day. We are sitting around watching out loved one suffer and HE is frustrated about talking for 5 more minutes! He actually told me that if I didn't know what congestive heart failure meant, that I didn't have suffiecient vocabulary to have a conversation with him. I was stunned. I have never been talked to like this by anyone but to have a ""trusted"" caretaker be so harsh in such a vulnerable moment was utterly shocking and inexcusable.\r \r If you can help it, avoid this doctor at all costs. There are plenty other capable doctors who also have the bedside manner to deal with patients and their families with the dignity they deserve.\r more

Brilliant Doctor 10/2/2007

This is the letter I sent to Dr Stuart Jacobson after the appointment my husband had with him: \r \r My husband had an appointment with you today. The time you spent with us gave us a much better understanding of his condition. You are a brilliant doctor. You got our attention as no other doctor has successfully done. You presented, very skillfully the seriousness of his problems ie; weight and risk factors and the stress it is putting on his heart. We now realize the true and sincere commitment that must be made to decrease his risk factors. It is the lifestyle change that can truly mean the difference in longevity. \r \r More than trust, you took the time to answer all our questions, which gave us a much clearer understanding of what the health condition of his heart really is. \r \r Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We most sincerely appreciate your time in addressing our concerns. We look forward to the next visit in three months and minus 15 pounds. \r \r Sincerely, \r Mrs. S.C. more

Best Cardiologist in Houston! 9/27/2007

These bad reviews about Dr. Jacobson could not be more FALSE. He is one of the most compassionate, eithical, intelligent physicians I have ever met. And as far as family values the person who said he has none obviously is either jealous or does not know him because he has more family values than any cardiologist I have ever come across. Yes, he is late to clinic often. But most cardiologists are. One of the reasons he is late is because he is TOO compassionate and will not turn someone away if they really need his help. AND he spends more time in the room with his patients than most cardiologist, or any specialist that I have met. And he REALLY cares and listens to them. He also has no problem telling it like it is and some people have a problem with that. So if you want a doctor who is in and out in 5 secs and sugar coats your problems then hes not the doc for you. But if you want a very intelligent, skilled, compassionate doc, who really listens and cares then Dr Stuart Jacobson is your doc. Pros: Excellent care, skilled staff Cons: Wait time, Parking...but thats everywhere you go. Worth the wait!!!! more

non compasionate 8/9/2007

Dr jacobson is a very negative Doctor, he does not believe. His office staff is also very rude. If you are looking for a compasionate, positive doctor, he is not the one for you, keep looking. Acording to him you are dead one you have multiple problems. He has no family values. Do Not see him... more

He's ALWAYS late.... 5/4/2006

Unless you are retired and have nothing better to do with your time than to spend 3 hours on a routine office visit, do not see Dr. Jacobson. He is a knowledgable and skilled doctor, but you will wait 2 hours to see him for 5 minutes, and he is in and out during the visit to answer the phone. I switched to another cardiologist after 3 visits, because I have a busy schedule. I know doctors are busy, but some manage time better than others. The front desk staff can be rude, but the nurses were nice. Pros: Smart doctor, Helpful nurses, Garage parking Cons: Long wait times, Doctor is distracted more
