The place has a great atmosphere. The dry sauna, steam room, showers are seperate for the men and women and are scheduled so that you have the cozy spaces to yourself to relax. That was the best part of the spa experience for me. I purchased a couple's massage for myself and my girlfriend as an early Valentine's gift, and from my experience and from talking to her about hers, both the guy and the girl giving the massages just went through the motions of rubbing certain muscles in a certain order. They neglected to look at the sheets we filled out ahead of time about our particular desires for the massages, for example, I had just bruised my knee skateboarding that morning, wrote this down for the therapist, and ended up getting a vigorous rubbing on my very noticibly swollen and bruised knee. There is an art to giving a massage that starts with a basic understanding of what to do, but requires paying attention to finding and loosening the tight muscles and areas of your client. My massage therapist definitely had not been fully trained or attentative enough to do this. If I was 50 years old and liked attractive 40 year old women, I might have been happy with her, but if a woman is going to give me a deep tissue massage, she needs to be a 6 foot tall Russian, not a pretty petit woman. On a whole, I would send my girlfriend back if she really wanted to go since she was happy with the experience (She is not as experienced with recieving massages), and I would just ask to chill out in the men's sauna area while I waited, especially for the price of a massage at this spa.
