Editorial review from Citysearch 10/24/2013

I went to physician care for chest pains because the do x rays and EKG I told the guy I gave my copay and then I get called back I tell them why I was there and they said I should of told the front and I did I told Jesse and the Dr said to do a EKG and the nurses Lisa and a intern lost it so the Dr had to call the hwy 58 for one of there's and as the nurse Lisa and the intern hooked the EKG machine up they where putting it on my calorbone and made me take everything off even my bra. my mom told them that was not right cause she is a nurse at Chatt heart institution and she does EKG all day and the nurse Lisa said it was right and the Dr wanted me to go to the er the Dr told the nurse to take the EKG off so I could go to er and they didn't do that so my mom took them off and I had to sign something saying I was going to the er car and not ambulance as I was signing the nurses were write rude and unprofessional note in my chart about my mom saying she was rude. So I got a copy of the note from my new Dr and they had wrote more about my mom then me I will never go back there again . more

Incompetent and Unacceptable 1/29/2012

Took my wife to this clinic on a Sunday (no regular offices were open) due to some breathing difficulties. When we got in to see the doctor, he recommended that she have a chest x-ray performed so he could get a better look at her lungs. So far so good. We informed him that she had just had an in-vitro fertilization operation only a few days prior and, therefore, there was a high probability that she was pregnant. This made us somewhat uncomfortable since x-rays function through use of radiation exposure. He assured us that appropriate precautions would be taken and that lead shielding would be used where appropriate. I work in the nuclear industry and have quite a bit of experience in radiation health physics, so I felt comfortable with this answer. Still no issues to this point. When my wife returned from the x-ray, she told me about what shielding the x-ray technician had used and where they had placed it. The radiation source was positioned behind her with the x-ray impression to the front of her. This meant that the radiation would pass through her from back to front. The technician had placed the shielding over her stomach (on her front side). This meant that the only thing being shielded from the radiation was the x-ray impression, not my wife! The technician should have placed the shielding on her back side. The fact that this happened tells me that the x-ray technician had no idea what she was doing or the potential risks associated with the hazards she encountered by the nature of her job. This was completely unacceptable to me, and we told the doctor about it when he came back. He said that he would ""address the issue"" with the technician. I know that this behavior would certainly not pass for acceptable in the industry in which I work, and I am dissapointed that this seemed to be status quo for this facility. If I knew how to raise this issue higher so that it would get the attention it deserved, I certainly would. I hope that the reader of this review finds this helpful when looking for a health care staff that they are willing to trust with their care. more

Slow 3/24/2011

Waited over an hour to have my insurance card copied and pay my co-pay. The waiting room wasn't even full. No reason to be that slow. I've come here multiple times and this is by far the worst experience I've had. I won't be back, and I will stop referring people to come here. more

Don't come here for immediate concerns. EVER. 3/21/2011

I came in because I was having some joint pain and don't have a primary care doctor yet since I recently moved to Hixson. I paid $89 for the visit since I don't have insurance and about $60 for lab tests. It's been two months and I STILL haven't gotten the results. The staff were too busy talking on the phone to their friends or talking to one another to answer any of my questions when I went in for the exam, and the doctor completely ignored me. I was ignored throughout the entire visit practically, and was left alone in the exam room for 40 minutes because no one gave me the instruction that I could leave. When I asked a nurse if I could leave or if I needed to stay, she said, ""You're doctor should know, I don't know why you're in there or where you're supposed to be."" Comforting, right? I was highly dissatisfied with the service, yet the doctor did manage to prescribe to me what I needed. The only problem is that none of them had refills and I can't get in touch with the clinic to even request a refill or see if I need a follow-up to get more. I've been two weeks without my medication and I'm a college student who can't afford insurance to see a doctor. After leaving messages and calling every day (all at times that they are open), the only response I get on the other line is an automated line that keeps ringing and never is picked up. more

Better than ER but not much 11/18/2010

I have been to the Hixson Pike location a couple of times when couldn't get in to see my regular physician. You would think that this clinic would be government sponsered due to the unprofessionalism of the staff. The doctor I went to for a 2nd opinion on my pnuemonia laughed at my holistic doctor's methods. you will wait less time than if you went to the emergency room, but as I was self pay and the first thing after hearing that, the desk staff barked off the cost of an office visit, as I was wearing a t-shirt that day that said, I don't pay my medical bills. Also, during my visit in the waiting area, a crazy man walked in the yelled profanities. I am guessing that this corporate entity does not provide their staff with much praise or compensation, either way, not the patients fault. more

Wrong prescription, called back three times for correct one 9/4/2009

I went in for a bladder infection on Friday. They took a urine culture. They gave me an antibiotic to take in the mean time. On Wednesday they called back and said I needed a new prescription b/c my body was resistant, took my phone number and pharmacy, and said they would call and confirm they had called it in. On Thursday when I still hadn't heard anything I called them. They told me the same thing they had said on Wednesday! On Friday I still hadn't heard from them so I called and told the receptionist this was the third time I called for my prescription. Still haven't heard from them. Pros: The nurse was nice Cons: unorganized and don't keep up with patients more

Great people, excellent care! (guy above sounds like he didn't need a doc to make the diagnosis) 12/13/2008

I have had great experience with the people at Physician's Care. The staff is friendly and professional. I am able to get seen by a doctor any day of the week and without an appointment. I have gotten all my school physicals there, as well as treatment for some really bad colds, gottnen stiches etc...I am so glad I did not have to go to the Emergency room, which is a nightmare and could take ALL DAY. Pros: Great care! Excellent professional staff, very compassionate and undersstanding more

Quick and courteous service 8/26/2007

I really enjoyed the experience I had at Physicians Care. I was unable to get my children into their pediatrician for school physicals in a timely manner, so I took them to Physicians Care. They were able to see all 3 of them the night I needed them too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were in and out quickly and got what we needed. I will definetly use them again in the future for any needs our family may have. In this day and age prompt service when I need it makes a difference to our family time. more

The biggest Damn Joke in the medical society 5/10/2007

On 5-10-2007 I went to Physicians care on Hixson Pike to have my thumb looked at. It had started swelling and turning a bruised color. I tell the dr. upon his fashionably late entrance, that I had NOT jammed, slammed, pulled, poked or otherwise any other pain causing actions to this thumb. So they start by checking my breathing. Then my pulse, and temperature. I understand that there are regulatory things that have to be done upon any visit. They then want to take x-rays. Which afterwards they said was to make sure that it was not broken. Remember what I said when he came in. Then he offers a steroid shot, which I refused, then tells me the only thing I can do is take antibiotics and over the counter motrin. Did I mention that he said he thought it was an infection under the skin prior to x-raying. Turns out no one there is quite sure. It cost me 203.17 to learn absolutely nothing that I did not know when I walked in the door 2 hours prior. I hate to say it in todays world but this is the kind of sh1t that gets a Mack truck drove through their office one day Cons: EVERYONE OF THE BASTARDS more
