Funny Stuff 9/2/2011

(Oct. 2010)\r Omg! Let me just say that the 5 of us were going on a trip to Pennhurst Asylum. We were ready to have a good time and wanted to stay somewhere close to the haunted house. The G Lodge was cheap and really close. I called ahead and booked the room. All they asked me on the phone was my name and how many beds. So I called back and asked if they needed a credit card or phone number or something and the lady on the other end replied ""No, I got it in my book."" I hesitated at the sound of it but we all agreed to at least go look at it. When we finally found it we turned down a driveway to see a white house boarded up and behind it what looked like a storage unit!\r We were trying to check in, well thru the screen window of the first room these guys asked if we were checking in. They handed us the key, took our cash and that was it! When we opened the door we were unloading our stuff which included a cooler of beer. My friend was smoking a cigarette and one of the guys that ""checked us in"" said ""OOOOO YEAH BEER, HEY LET ME GET A SMOKE"" ummmmm ok hell no! THe guys working this motel looked like they were on meth and all of their words were slurring.\r After we opened the door expecting to see a two queen bed room, we only had one bed with no sheets! The floor had blood stains as well as multiple other gross stains, the ac was falling out of the wall and there was trash all over the room.\r The people staying in the room next door apparently lived there because their children were playing on the dumpster... \r I felt like I walked into a crack house.\r I make the boys go get out money back, as they approached the ""Check in"" room they looked through the window to see a girl curled up swaying back and forth. When the guys realized someone was at the window they scattered different things that looked like pipes and spoons. Then they came to the window and one of my friends and my fiance said that there was no room for us and that we wanted our money back.\r There were 4 guys and myself looking to stay the weekend, and although we have slummed it before we could NOT bare even looking at this place any longer!\r They guys that worked there looked sad but handed the money back. They were probably sad because they knew that the money we gave them they were going to probably going to go buy their next fix. We got out of there so fast we never even returned their key.\r Still to this day I have that G Lodge key and it disgusts me.\r DO NOT STAY HERE!\r It makes me want to puke. more

A place to avoid at all costs 5/5/2010

My wife and I paid for a weeks stay in advance. Then we were told we only got one towel each for use all week. the place was crawling with bugs. The room only had a space heater that could not be turned down, so it was either freeze or roast.\r Not only no battery in the smoke detector, but no guts either.\r Room was filthy, not remodeled as promised. No refund when we fled early in disgust.\r Do not stay here under any condition. Cons: bugs, no pemanent heat, broken smoke detectors, surly manage more

Bad... Avoid 11/12/2007

Based on the Reviews I read here on Yahoo, I thought ""G"" Lodge would be a nice retro place to spend a couple of nights while we were in the area for my son's wedding. We made reservations two months in advanced.\r \r I had my feelings we were in trouble when they confirmed the reservation but had the amount of beds wrong. They said they would correct that, but I had to be there BY a certain time to insure getting the room because the office closed for the night! We took steps: my wife went ahead to make sure we had the room. When she got there, it turned out they were just in the process of ejecting the occupant out of the room who was a smoker. The room was #10, the floor slopped, the walls were dirty, the carpet thread-bare. There was a air condition in the window with insulation wrapped around it, exposed. There were ants and other insects in the bathroom, and the room had NO HEAT!! The owner brought a space heater over AFTER my wife complained about the cold (this was in November). This was retro... it hadn't been fixed or updated in years! She had to leave: she couldn't take the dirt or the smell. \r \r I got there later to looked at the room, my wife does tend to dramatize things, but she was 100% correct. I laughed and I laughed hard... The room was in such a poor shape I couldn't believe he charged money for the thing!!! When I went back to the office, the man in the office still INSISTED that I paid for the night since he had a sign up the said ""NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES."" I laughed, passed him the key under the thick plate glass protector and said ""No"". I left.\r \r East Vincent Township should take note of ""G"" Lodge and really inspect it over. Everyone else should just avoid it. Pros: Location Cons: Everything Else... Room, Owners, Condition more
