The Dr did an amazing job! 2/28/2014

My dog had hernia and needed surgery ASAP.. I called and asked for price for surgery, like any other vet, they will tell you, the Dr has to see the dog to tell you that. I didn't mind and took him. The Dr performed the surgery and did an amazing job, got rid of the hernia and told me great tips to prevent those things to occur. I High recommend this place, not only because they did an amazing job, but the prices are AMAZING!! I got a great deal. Big surgeries are pricey anywhere, but this place saved me a lot of money. more

BAD VET--SAVE YOUR PETS GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! 2/22/2012

I took my cat there when she was injured on her paw at first they were very kind and did save her life. however this was back in november its now february. Her paw was then scraped of its skin and is still not healing, they constantly wrap it bandages and the actual vet couldn't be bothered he was taking his evening naps. Today i went again and the attitude i was given when asking a few questions was horrid. First of all you can't even understand a word that comes out of their mouths but they called me "ungrateful", saying "I'm the best no one is better", "no apperication", and also called my grandmother "moody" when she said she didn't understand. the way they treated us is just dispicable. They then told us to get a second opinion so i did that same day and was told it should have been aired out and the other vet had to fight to get her records cause they did not want to release them so when they did it was a letter ! they do not keep records, the place is a mess. it's time they reti more

Review of Castor Animal Hsp 3/26/2010

I am the owner of a 12yr old red doberman & 2 cats. The Dr is always so nice and shows genuine concern for my pets. Because I am always concerned about costs, he always works with me on the price for medical procedures. The receptionist is also especially kind. I appreciate the fact that they still answer the phones after hours in case of an emergency. more

Castor Animal Hospital is Doberman friendly 6/15/2009

I took my Doberman there to get his ears cropped , What a beautiful job they did . The Dr and his wife were very friendly and the price did not break my pocket. I will use them for all my Dobe's. more

This vet has cost me thousands of dollars! Be careful! 8/18/2008

I took my Beagle to this vet because he was lifting his left leg while walking. They shot him with needles and he had seizures on the table and took unnecessary x rays that racked up to over $500 in a week. At the end of the week he could not walk at all. I took him to Malvern and they said that he shouldn't have been given any kind of shot to put him out that caused seizures and if they referred him right away he only needed to have surgery on one leg but since they didn't detect what you can feel in his knee and took unnecessary x rays and had me keep coming back he needed surgery on both legs. I am now at $7,000 in surgeries and follow up visits.\r They just also got over on my daughter charging $290 to have her dog neutured. She had her friend call and describe the breed, age, and sex of her dog that was just neutured by them to see how much they would tell her and they said $150. They are rip offs! The receptionist that is also the vet's wife doesn't care about the animals only how more

FIND ANOTHER PLACE 11/25/2007

I brought my newly adopted pitbull Lola there for a visit, the nasty wench at the front desk looked at my dog like she was the devil herself, when lola went to sniff her and say hell she jumped. My dog is in NO WAY aggressive and figuring she works with animals all the time she SHOULD know the true nature of a pitbull. Anyway the vet couldnt understand English and gave my little girl a rabies shot....TOO BAD SHE JUST HAD ONE A MONTH PRIOR. I told him this but he didnt listen he was too busy talking to my boyfriend. I guss because I was female I didnt know what I was talking about....too bad shes my dog. Over priced and RUDE. Find another vet...! more

Not Recommended for Serious Matters 8/25/2006

I had a 12 week old kitten who had a very bad reaction to flea drops. I called my own vet, the office was closed. I went through the phonebook to find a vet as close to me as possible due to the seriousness of my kittens' health. I found Castor Animal Hospital and took her staight over. My kitten was suffering severe body tremors and I expected the worse. The vet looked at her (not before taking all my info first!) and told me that he sees this all the time and that she will probably be there for several days. I ask him if it was possible that she will survive. He said that he does not make any guarentees, but on the same note said "that she will be okay in a few days".The next morning I called to see how she was doing. I was told, "The same. Give it a few days". I asked if I could come in and see her. "Yes". I went over and she was brought out, limp, slung over the woman's arm. I could not believe that they were telling me that she was still viable. It was obvious to me that she was b more

Full service vet. 11/1/2005

This animal hospital has been in business for a very long time and it does an adequate job. The prices are average and the hospital is clean. It is a busy place, and the wait can be very long. They should do a better job of setting appointments. I am neutral on this vet and this would not be my first choice, especially for a serious matter, but for shots/spay and neuter he does an acceotable job. His boarding of cats is reasonable, and the area where they stay is adequate. PROS: Full service vet CONS: Too long a wait. more
