I have been to many Dr's over the years & have many health issues. As to a former reviewer, I call Dr Farber with refill requests all the time. As a matter of fact when I first became his patient he even called in refills for me that my former Dr. had written. I find the staff extremly friendly and helpful, we have even swapped recipes and such. I find that mostly angry and spiteful people are the only ones that take the time to review, and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on Dr Farber, he has a wonderful 'bedside manner' so to speak, is extremly thorough, and found a health problem that had plagued me that two other Dr's failed to find. Poor patient care 2/23/2011

I had been going to this office for 15 years. Over time, the care got worse and worse. They truly are out to make a buck. The local county health department agreed with me. \r The front office staff is down right rude and disrespectful.\r We have found a new Dr. that we are pleased with and thankful we no longer have to deal with this office. more

Terrible Patient Care! 11/22/2010

I have never come across a doctor's office like Wetherington Family Medicine; the patient care is sub-par and all they care about it money. I have lived in 6 different states and seen many different doctors, this office takes the cake for the WORST practice! I have had several bad experiences with this office, the final straw happened today. I called to have a Rx for a cold sore refilled as I recently ran out - Dr. Hans never gave me a refill with the initial Rx and now I know why. I was told I have to come in & be seen, yet again. By the time she would be able to see me my cold sore would be gone. So all I would be doing is telling her I have cold sores . Yet, that did not matter she would want me to make an appointment. This happened a few months ago also. Why should I continued to be seen for an issue that is inconsequential & can easily be taken care of with an Rx?! So they can collect more money! I then ask if I can please have my medical records faxed to me (as I have every intention on switching providers). I was told that it would cost me $2.73 per page for the first 10 pages....costing around $30 for my records. I stopped listening after that. I have NEVER heard of this. Every time we move I get my records & they are FREE! Another instance happened when I first started seeing Dr. Hans. The receptionist insisted I make an appointment for a yearly physical; I agreed. My physical consisted of Dr. Hans asking a few questions & ordering blood work - maybe 2 minutes and that is being generous. How can that be a complete physical? It was a waste of my time and money. I have more negative stories, but I think I made my point; there is more concern about making money in this practice than there is about good patient care. I highly recommend thinking twice before making an appointment with this practice! more

The BEST Doctor around 4/29/2010

Doctor Farber and his staff are more than willing to work with you, if you tell them the issue! I have applied for dissability because I am unable to work. The doctors office has been more than accomodating on assisting me with the process. In the meantime I am unemployed with no health insurance. The Doctors office has been great to work with me, especially considering my health issues. Pros: More than willing to work with you! more

Shocked By The Negative Reviews!! 8/10/2009

I am truly shocked at the negative reviews here. I've been a patient of Dr. Farber's for four years. I've never had to schedule a routine appointment more than a day or two in advance. Physicals take a little more time so getting an appoint ment for them takes a bit longer but that's no big deal. \r \r I find Dr. Farber and the staff to be extremely personable and professional. Last year there was some question as to whether or not my insurance would cover treatment from this practice (all cleared up). I decided that I would rather pay out-of-pocket than switch to a new practice. more

In My Opinion......Only Money Matters 4/23/2009

I have been a patient at this office for four years. My family and I are now changing to a different medical practice. The customer service is very poor and the staff does not demonstrate any form of professionalism. In my opinion, it appears that Dr. Farber views his patients as ""cash cows."" I was out of town due to a death in the family, and Dr. Farber would only phone in my prescription for a fee of $40.00. I have referred several patients to his practice, and I desperately needed my heart medicine. Since I would not agree to the $40.00 charge, he would not refill the prescription. I now have a new and different concern with Dr. Farber that is worse than the various other concerns that I have had in the past. It is too lengthy to describe in a review. I am so disgusted with Dr. Farber, that I am finally going to the trouble of acquiring my medical records from his office and leaving permanently. Also, I have never taken the time to write a review on a website. I have found a different doctor on my insurance company's website. Please do not make the same mistakes that I have made- the thousands of dollars that I have spent going to his office. Find a different doctor. Poor patient care! 8/11/2008

I went to this office for one year and each visit got worse. The receptionist didn't want to be bothered. They answered questions after a long wait. You could not get a morning appointment for a child whether sick or a well check. The doctor was rushed and the nurses were not too friendly. Overall my experience was beyond poor! Pros: Childrens area Cons: the service, care and wait time more
