Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar

Our group had lunch at the Elephant Bar yesterday. Waiter was pleasant and capable. Food was okay. My brownie dessert was burned, hard, whipped cream melted at serving. Was replaced with a fresh one. I did not understand the billing procedure. Bill was $12.57, paid with $20, $7. returned. No coin. This was the same with all 12 in our party. Where did the 43 cents go? Was it a part of the tip? Grautuity was not included in bill. Does the waiter get the "extra"? Does it go in the till? Why is payment rounded? A first for us. The 43 cents was not the issue, but I am sure the waiter could make some additional. funds this way. $6. average from our group, how much in a day? Amazing concept. more

My family and I have been to this restaurant on numerous occassions. We love it. They do serve large portions, but its great for the money. The food is excellent, they give you little animal shaped cups of crayons for the kids. The kids can color on their Elephant Bar coloring pages, and then they can take the glasses off and pretend to be an animal. Its very cute and lively too. There are animal decorations everywhere. The bar looks like one large palm tree. My husband and I shared a shrimp platter and it was superb. They give you grilled shrimp, with just the right seasonings, breaded shrimp, that is just to die for, and a coconut shrimp, the coconut shrimp dipped in the sweet sauce they gave us was excellent. Just the right amount of everything. And the shrimp they gave us were large. The perfect size! But my absolute favorite thing of all is their Fudge Fudge Walnut Brownie. Its gigantic and at the perfect price. It comes loaded with the walnut brownie, topped with vanilla ice cream, lots of whipped cream with chocolate shavings and walnuts on top, and then a cherry to top it off. You can't get much better. The service there is great, never had bad service. The only thing is, since its the only one in the springs, if you go at rush hour, you will have quite a wait, so go early, enjoy the food, enjoy the drinks, and have fun!!! more

WOW! My first time to the Elephant Bar. I had originally thought it was a bar. The name threw me off. So I didn't see any reason to go there. But then a good friend of mine took me there for lunch one day. Great atomsphere! A jungle theme but not in a tacky way. It's not a fancy dress up kind of place but it's not Burger King either. They have an outdoor space where you can sit and enjoy the view of the mountains while you are eating if you like. I ate inside and had the Cobb salad. OMG! This was the best salad I have ever eaten! Fresh Avocados, real chicken breast pieces and the blue cheese dressing was amazing. The staff were all very nice and accomodating. Even the iced tea was the best i've ever drank. I would deffinately tell my friends to try this place for lunch or dinner. more

My daughter and I went to this restaurant for lunch today. I had passed by it several times but had never been in it until today. I ordered the Sesame Seed Chicken Stir Fry. Whew! What a large portion they served. But I ate nearly all of it. It's stir fry chicken marinated in a teriyaki sauce with tiny green lima beans, squash, green onions and some other vegetables served over white steamed rice with fried wontons around the plate. My daughter ordered the Cobb Salad which my favorite thing on it was fresh, sliced avocado. And their brewed ice tea was fresh. The service was quick and we'll definately go back there. more

This is a terrific place to go for lunch with the girls. They have a wide variety of items on the menu from which to choose and a full bar. The prices are moderate and the portions are ample. I found the waitstaff to be very friendly, courteous and attentive to our needs without being too overly done. more

I've never had a more pleasant experience at a restaurant before! My husband and I decided to try this restaurant because I've only heard good things about it. They told us that our wait would be 25 minutes, and only 10 minutes later they had a table for us, which was great! The crayons for my daughter came in a cute foot of a tiger, and included a menu to color as well as some fun eyeglasses! The menu included a very wide array of different kind of foods, the artichoke dip is excellent, as well as their food. Even my daughter enjoyed their cheeseburger, which doesn't happen often with a 2 year old. My husband really enjoyed their cheesecake, and I loved their creme brulee, as did my daughter! The service was excellent, she was there to fill up our drinks and left us alone when we were eating, very prompt and paid close attention to her tables! We tried a few drinks there, and I very much recommend the strawberry banana cyclone as well as the jungle colada! I am grateful for such a pleasant experience! more

It was such a fun experience for our family. My kids loved sitting by the big elephant! The food was great, I have never had better teriaki chicken, and the drinks were very yummy! They were very kid friendly, my children got the usual crayons and menu to color on, and also some fun animal paper eye glasses to entertain them. We will definitely be going back there. more
