Nice Local Place....Very Tasty South French Cuisine 10/8/2010

Went there twice this summer. In July, happened to be Steak Night - tender and flavorful (skirt or hangar, can't remember) - also had cod brandade and mussels. Delicious, and the mussels were tender in some kind of green parsley-garlic sauce (not pesto). more

Amazing French Cuisine 10/28/2009

Fine French Dining! Awesome Wedding Party Table! 10/28/2009

Chez Jacqueline is the best French restaurant in New York City. My family and I ate dinner there and we were a party of 30. They have this excellent large table that fit us and would have fit as many more as we wanted! The service was awesome and the food even better! This is the perfect restaurant for any large party or special occasion and seems quaint enough for even the coziest romantic dinner! Pros: Awesome Place for Large Parties! Cons: None Found more

Best French Restaurant in New York City! 10/28/2009

I just ate at this Restaurant last night because it is only a couple blocks from my house and i was blown away. I thought I was eating in France. Even the waiters had accents and the feel was very authentic. I felt like I was back in Paris as I was last year! My girlfriend loved it and it is now on our favorites list! Pros: Great French Food! Affordable & Romantic! Cons: None Found more

Great find! 5/28/2009

I went here last night with 10 of my closest girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted nicely at the door and a comfortable table was waiting for us near the window. The waiter very helpful with the menu and he made great suggestions...we took alot of small dishes and shared some main courses. Everything was so tasty...must try the grilled calamari (best I ever had!) The owner offered us a complimentary bottle of champagne...nice touch. After dinner we had a few cocktails at the bar and made some new friends. It was truly a birthday to remember and I will definitely be coming back soon. more

Not the best service / OK food 1/8/2009

We went to this restaurant for our friend's birthday. It was a Saturday night 9:30 PM reservation. We were THE ONLY TABLE at the restaurant! We were given very little time to look over the menu as we were rushed to order. The food was just OK. The service was not great and when we ordered desert, around 11 PM, we were given dirty looks since the kitchen and the restaurant were closing. Not a great experience. There are many other French cousines that have much better food and service! more

Not as good as it was 3/5/2008

The food used to be a lot better, it seems to have lost it's special appeal. The service could have been less snobbish more

Best crème brûlée in NYC 9/5/2006

Pros: food Cons: service, small more

Good French Food, Decent Service 11/19/2005

I dined here on a Saturday night, and was very pleased with the quality of the food. The menu offered a respectable selection, and all of us enjoyed our entrees. The wine list was long, but a bit on the high side. The host was very welcoming, but our waiter was inattentive, slow, and a touch condescending. I will go back, and will hope for a better server. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Host Cons: Service, Wine Prices more

best authentic afordable french restaurant in NYC 10/14/2005

I recently had dinner at chez Jacqueline, the food ambience and service are all excellent, Jacqueline is always a very gracious host. The food is always beyond expectations, if you like duck, cassoulet, sweetbreads or quails to name a few all that in the 20 dollars price range don't think twice, the wine list also has some great burgundies or bordeaux to go with that! BON APETIT!!! more

Fine French 1/23/2005

After living in Monaco for six months, I returned to New York needing to find a restaurant serving good southern French cuisine. While Chez Jacqueline's food can definitely be beat outside of the country, I have yet to find any better in the States. You must try the Soupe de Poissons Traditionelle as well as the Carre d'Agneau if you want to eat what a Frenchman would. Pros: Good Food, Pleasant more
