I had a similar experience to the user below who claimed that their sales people will say anything to close a deal. My wife and I knew very well that we would be in our house in Spring for 18 months at the most, as I was in Houston ONLY to train with a company I was recently hired by. We were very clear with the sales person, Jaki, as to what our intent was. She assured us that ADT has a relocation plan and we would be taken care of. Fast forward 360 days later, and we had sold our house and were moving to North Dakota. When we moved into our new home, I immediately contacted ADT relocation to get set up, and was told that ADT does not service the town I live in. They said I could break my contract without penalty. At this point, I figured I was green and clear on this issue. Fast forward two more months after cancelling my service, and I received a 30-day late notice from Bulldog. I immediately contacted ADT, who told me again that I was clear. \r \r Another SEVEN MONTHS passed by and I received a letter from a collections agency for THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS. At most, had I been held to the contract, I would have owed approximately $900 (75% of the remainder of my $50/mo contract). That is strange math. I immediately contacted Bulldog to figure out where this all came from, as a year later, I was still under the assumption that I was clear. I was told that they could not speak to me about the case, and that I could only speak to the collection agency. Now, because I take care of my bills, do not carry debt, and am a responsible person, I have never dealt with a collections agency. I sure had something to learn with these guys, too. \r \r I ended up closing out the debt with the collections agency for $1600. What a deal! They saved me $1400! The only reason I did this was because the agency was very hostile and confrontational, and was dramatically threatening to damage my credit by 100 points. \r \r At this point, the only recourse that I have is to educate the public on this company's incredibly unfair and unethical practices. \r \r Do not use their services. \r \r The alarm actually works. \r \r Bulldog - you still have my account information. I never ever ever give reviews - but I just can't let a company do this to their customers and not be heard.. We needed security for our rental home but figured most places wouldn't do that for leased homes.. In comes Bulldog door to door selling scam.. These scam artists will tell you anything once they knock on your door to get the deal - My wife and I dealt with the Manager, Rhett, 6 months ago and he promised that since we are leasing and our lease was up we could get a free move in 6 months when our lease was up.. He was a seemingly nice salesman type person that was overseeing all of the trainees.. He even gave us his card and said to call him if we have any problems.6 months pass and suddenly Rhett who actually remembers our house and my husband being a Marine, said he doesn't remember saying that he would waive our move fee.. And they want to charge me 300 dollars to move our services.. After talking to the office - I have realized what the worst customer service ever in the history of the world sounds like - Her name is Sadie.. The Bulldog Security tech that came out to remove our services in preparation for the move said ""Rhett's not even supposed to be doing lease houses.. I can't believe they let that one slip through because if I go to install and it's a lease I won't install it - we're only supposed to sell to owned houses.. they do this all the time to the customers.. and I work for them, I understand how Sadie can be.. she is awful to customers"".. he even told us ""man, you should hear the things she says sometimes to customers.. In the mornings I am in the office and I have to listen to it.."" So they won't waive my move fee and the kicker is if I cancel I have to pay them 75% of 30 months.. Which means I either pay the move fee or pay 6,000 dollars.. SO unfortunately I am stuck with them - Don't make the same mistake I did!!! They even told me they couldn't do anything and to have a money order for the tech to remove the services for the move and he forgot it at my house so then they took out the fee from my checking account without any authorization!! Horribly people at Bulldog!! more
