Village Family Practice Village Medical Group 7/9/2009

This clinic is only interested in making MONEY several physicians-such as Broussard and Clive Fields-simply write prescriptions, order excessive tests, and refer the patient to a specialist. The notion that the patient is a human being is irrelevant to these two MDs. Also, their support staff is universally rude, mean and demeaning. There are several Physicians who are EXCELLENT:Drs. Domask, Lemming, Groff, Noel, Earie, and Su.Yet, these physicians seem to have very little ability to manage or account for the inhumane employees that patients must interact with before and after seeing them. Also, this clinic seams to have a PRIVATE list of referral options: a patient may desire to go to the specialist of their choice who is on their insurance plan, yet they are discouraged by statements made by Fields and Broussard such as ""that MD is too far away!"" (read: not on the ""KICK-BACK"" list?).The good Docs ARE worth the hassle; Fields + Broussard RUIN the place:too many ignorant-rude employees. Cons: worst clinic in Houston more

Poorly run medical clinic 1/18/2008

Having been a patient of several of the doctors at this clinic for over seven years, the turnover in their staff caused numerous problems. As much as they automated their phone system, getting a phone call returned was next to impossible. Most doctors do not like for you to have your medical records, but by law they have to give them to you. more

Terribly run practice 10/22/2007

What a disappointment -- over a dozen doctors, many of whom seem competent and caring, just can't get it together to run a practice. A newcomer to Houston, I have tried to secure one of the doctors at VFP as my primary care physician three different times. Each time, the doctor has agreed and I have confirmed that he or she has the capacity to take on a new patient. But, when I call for an appointment or call to ask a question, the staff simply funnels my questions and appointments to whatever doctor they choose -- even though I specify ""my"" doctor when I call. The point of having a primary care provider is to ensure that a patient is comfortable with a doctor and has the opportunity to establish a history with a particular doctor so that the patient recieves more effective care as time goes on. VFP is not set up to permit patients to take advantage of this important benefit. Pros: Saturday morning appointments, knowledgable and confidence-inspiring doctors Cons: The WROST run medical practice I have ever encountered. Bad enough that doc-quality just doesn't make up for it. more
