Excellent automotive diagnosis and repair, plus great customer service. While I was having work done, the owner was calling to arrange a rental car for a customer. I highly recommend taking your car to Brookline Foreign Motors more

QUALITY WORK - WONDERFUL PEOPLE - GREAT PRICE 3/15/2011

If you want honest, reliable and quality work performed for the best price around, by the nicest - anywhere - look no further. Go to Brookline Foreign Motors. I bashed in my side view mirror, and realized how very necessary that one little mirror is. I called several places about prices, and I couldn't believe how much some places wanted for the repair. I called the Toyota Dealer in Boston where I purchased the car, and they told me I would have to bring the car to their collision shop in Braintree for them to determine what mirror to order. Unreal. I called Brookline Foreign Motors and the owner couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. He quoted me a price and offered me several options to keep the costs down (none of the other places I called did that.) I drove over on a Friday afternoon for him to verify what I needed. We planned to have the mirror installed the following Wednesday. I called him Tuesday morning and asked if there was any way I could have the mirror put on that afternoon. He sent someone over to Watertown to expedite the process and it was ready for installation by mid afternoon on Tuesday. He did this for no extra cost. He did it just to accommodate me. While it was being installed, I chatted with him - nicest guy ever. They even sell used cars there, too. And by the way, the mirror was installed in about 10 minutes, it looks great, it was painted and perfectly matches the color on my 7 year cold car, and I was on my way. I am so very appreciative of the wonderful service I received. I hope I don't smash my car up anymore - but if I did, I wouldn't bother to call anyone else. What a breath of fresh air to deal with an honest, reliable repair shop that values its customer and provides outstanding service. Five Big Stars --- I would give them more if I could!! In a day and age where it seems like no-one cares about customer service or the quality of their work, it is a so wonderful to find a family business who really values their customers - and does a great job. Thank you!!! more

you can save money when u have a good mechanic 3/10/2011

I brought my car for a second opinion to these guys because my friend works across the street from the garage and said they always look like they have a lot of work. Also, I found online that the reviews were good. I used to take my car to a place in Newton but i felt like they were always telling me we need to fix something when i only come in for basic maintenance. I work for the MBTA and have crazy work schedule so I appreciated that Brookline Foreign Motors have an early drop off and are across the street from the Brookline Village T stop. The manager Fred called me mid-day after I dropped my car off and said that I only need to replace the right lower control arm and the Newton shop told me I had to replace the whole control arm. Fred saved me $700 by doing good, honest mechanical diagnostics. If he would have told me to replace the whole thing I would have! This is why you need to work with good people who don?t rip you off! The car has been running perfectly since and it has been over a year. Now when I bring my car in for a tune-up or oil change, if Fred says I need to repair something, i know it is necessary. This is great peace of mind for a busy guy that doesn?t have time to run around town getting second opinions!!! more

OMG! I think I found an honest repair shop! 12/8/2010

So I don't usually write reviews because I am rarely surprised or overly impressed with service in Boston. more

Dishonest Repair Shop. Tried to Scam me out of Money and unnecessary work 4/16/2008

I have an audi a6. i took my car there for a second opinion for bent valves in my engine because the first place i went to suggested that i replace the engine. i went here thinking that this was an honest indy shop but boy was i wrong. they first told me that they needed to place the timing belt and water pump on my car (which i supplied them) to get the car running and to hear the engine to see how it sounds. i agreed to that service so that way they can see the problem. so they called me and said that they but the parts on but the engine was stuck and they opened the cylinder head and saw that there are bent valves in the engine causing the engine not to work. So basically they wanted to charge me $800 for a job that they didnt have to do. from the moment i first spoke to the guys there, frederick and rami, i told them that the other place told me that there were bent valves and that i was looking for a second opinion to see if i need a new engine, or if the cylinder head can be rebuild with new valves. I refused to pay because basically they charged me for service that they knew wouldnt solve my problem to my car. when i went in the morning to tow my car, my engine was in shambles. everything was disconnected. and to top it off, the timing belt and water pump which i supplied them, was never put on the car. everything was still in its box, perfectly wrapped in the plastic bags. basically what they did was sit around, open the cylinder head, saw that there were bent valves, and was going to try to tell me that after they put the belt and water pump on and it didnt start, they needed to take it back off in order to open the head. and they never even did the job that they were charging me for in the first place. i wish i could post pictures so you guys out there can see what these people did to my car. its a shame and its time that all of these shady indy shops learn a lesson. Its so funny that i originally went to this shop because i thought they were good people. more
