Great Food, good prices 3/13/2009

Found this restaurant pretty much on our doorstep and was shocked I hadn't heard more about how good it is. Been 4 times in 2 months. Twice a la carte, twice Recession Menu. Great every time. Somelier very knowledgable and extremely helpful when we bought in some of our own 20 year old wine from our wine locker while dining in the restaurant. Happy hour was fun in the bar and food just as good as the restaurant. What can I say it's so nice to have a good restaurant so close to home. Pros: Love the Recession Menu as well as A la Carte more

Not worth the drive or price... 3/3/2009

I loved the decor and that's about it... I had high expectations when i walked in but the food fell completely flat. The service was lacking. The waitstaff needs retraining to say the least. When the food finally came out it was cold and bland and did not live up to any of the descent reviews i had read before i decided to eat there. After a bad entree I was looking forward to an amazing dessert to salvage my experience...but that was by far the worst course. The dessert was overly fussy and just plain bad. I had heard they had their own pastry chef but i'm not sure they do. I had a tiramisu that was stale, tasted like a refrigerator and looked store bought. Defintely not worth the drive down pch. Pros: great wine list Cons: dessert more

Food OK, Service is lacking in quality 8/12/2008

This was not the greatest experience. My expectations were high upon arrival and I left very disappointed. The food should have been much more flavorful. Even the mashed potatoes and grilled veggies were bland. Our server may have quite possibly working his very first shift ever. He was horribly slow, forgetful, inattentive, and lacked in personality. Additionally, he was very hard to understand. It seemed that management was completely unaware of our wait time. In fact, I never saw someone who appeared to be managing the place with the exception of the head chef hard at work. On a positive note, the wine list had variety and several affordable options. Also, the naturalist/modernist-style decor was not bad; however, our table was most awkwardly placed which made the atmosphere confusing. Pros: New spot to try - may improve in the future. Good wine list and cheese plate (of course). Cons: Service needs MAJOR training and improvement (remember, pleasing the customer is what it's all about)! Menu has good intentions but lacks in flavor. more
