good food 1/30/2012

Brain's is a favorite of ours for breakfast. It has been recently renovated and looks good. We always like the great home cooked food and the portions are nice. The only thing that is annoying is when we get one particular waitress she repeatedly calls us by her pet names: sweetie, doll, baby, angel and we as ladies really don't appreciate being addressed this way it is totally unnecessary , most of the others are very polite and professional. We go as a group and have noticed that this seems to occur in some of the local ""diner"" type restaurants here, we don't know why. more

best fish sandwich and cheap fast service 10/5/2009

Love it! 1/31/2009

Their club sandwich is my favorite. Sometimes there may be a wait for service but once your order it taken it comes fast. The waitresses are friendly and recognize you if you have been there before. It has a great small town feel and great food!!! Cheap too!!! Pros: good food and service Cons: sometimes there is a wait due to low staff more

Good food - terrible customer service 7/21/2008

I have been eating at Brian's since 1994 - back in the day when there was a wonderful waitress named Nancy (who, unfortunately, has passed away). I stopped going there for a few years because the service was on the decline. In the past six months, I have gone back three times to see if things have improved any. Each time I've gone back, the food as been as good as I remembered - the food never disappoints - it is the best of diner style food. However, the service has gotten so bad that it completely overshadows the food. Today I went there for lunch, and I can, in all honesty, say that I do not believe I will ever darken the doorstep there again. I arrived about 12:30 and was surprised that the place was not packed - I was able to walk in and get a table without having to wait. Perhaps this should have been a clue. My drink and food order was quickly taken and served by a waitress who then just as quickly forgot that I existed. I did not get her name (they don't wear name tags and probably for good reason) but she has shoulder length bleached blonde curly hair (if you do go there - sit in the front area as that did not appear to be her section). I made the mistake of setting in the middle area - what could I have been thinking? Once my plate was in front of me, the waitress chose to ignore my existence. Had I known this was going to happen, I would have sipped my tea very slowly to make it last, as getting a refill was never to happen. After finishing my meal, I finally had to go up to the register without a check as she had not deemed to leave one at the table (that would have been an acknowledgment of my existence). Various people told me that would be with me in a minute - I failed to time how long I stood there waiting to pay my invisible check but it just added to all the frustration. Hopefully, the waitress will have as hard a time spending the invisible tip I left for her. Pros: Food Cons: Very poor service more

Bad Customer Service - Too much gossip by the servers! 3/18/2007

This was our first experience here and we live right around the corner. Upon arriving, we had no idea if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated as no one acknowledge our entry. We decided to sit in a booth that was set with placemats and silverware. After being sat it took awhile for a server to come to our table. When she did arrive, the first thing she asked us was if there was money on the table. We answered no. We told her that there was a dollar on the table to our left but nothing on this table. It seemed that our answer was not good enough for her. I looked at my boyfriend and he looked at me and we were like what is up with that. Then she proceeds to take our drink order and walks away from the table. As she is behind the counter preparing the drinks for us she is complaing to her co-workers that the money that was supposedly left on the table was not there. Of course this was in a loud voice so we could hear. Her co-workers then asked which table the money should have been on and she said the table with the two guys. So now we felt like she was accusing us of taking her money. After that they all decided to put blame on the dishwasher as he ""just got out of jail"" and needs money for food, etc. All of this we are hearing and we both were thinking we do not need to hear anything like this. I was shocked that they would gossip about their other co-workers let alone customers. When I go into a restaurant I am there to eat and enjoy myself. I am not there to hear about personnel issues and be accused of stealing. All of the servers were complaining that they need money, etc.....and the tip she accused us of taking was $3.15. Overall, stay clear of this place unless you enjoy bad service and a gossip environment. Pros: Good greasy food after a night of drinking. Cons: Needs to work on customer service. more

There are many better 2/25/2004

I have now given Brian's 3 chances for its breakfast to win me over during the past month and it has failed- miserably. I cannot see how this place has such good reviews unless the reviews are posted by friends/employees/owners of Brian's. The ""best sticky buns in town"" are nothing special, much less the best in town, and the rest of the food is below average compared to other O-town breakfast joints. Sure, Brian's is inexpensive, but so are many other similar restaurants in Orlando (Pauly's, College Park Diner, Linda's Winter Park Diner) with much better food and ambience. I will not return to Brian's. Pros: Inexpensive more

Hair-stylist 7/20/2003

Brian's is a Family resturant that welcomes every-one that comes in. Brian's mother Sydele runs the front. Brian's father Paul makes THE SWEET BUNS from scratch and truely they are THE BEST. Brian makes the GOOD food. One of the best is the REAL grouper they serve. Most of their employees have been there years and make you feel special every time you go in. All their food is great. Pros: inexpensive, always fresh, GOOD more

Will Not Disappoint 6/7/2003

Excellent breakfast - best in Orlando, period. Definitely try the sweet rolls - they alone will make you come back. Pros: food more

HEY - Breakfast DONE Right 8/5/2002

This great restaurant makes ALL the others jealous! For a wonderful breakfast served in a great atmosphere go no further than Brian's. They have the best SWEET BUNS in town (made FRESH by one of the owners)! This reataurnat is now totally non-smoking and after a surprise renovation over their annual vacation even more charming than before! Don't walk - RUN to Brian's and check them out! Pros: Great staff, Great owners more

Friendly Food! 8/4/2002

Brian's has had one of the most commited group of regulars of any restaurant in town for all the years I've been eating there. We can't all be wrong no matter no matter what anyone says! Everyone in Orlando should eat here and decide for themselves. Pros: Great Food, Great Staff, Great Friends Cons: Parking when busy, To eclectic for some, To popular? more

Try it once and you'll be hooked! 8/2/2002

I am soo glad that Brian's was voted for best breakfast! They are definetely the place to go for a homestyle beakfast and best of all everything there is at a reasonable price! They just remodeled and the place looks great and i think that this ""ferland"" guy is definelty mistaken. You dont have to be a regular to recieve excellent service and a smile. For people who complain about the crowd on Sunday mornings that is just your proof that one of the best kept secrets in Orlando is getting around an also that they've still got it after 30 yrs! I have been a loyal customer for about 18 yrs now and will continue to keep going there for 18 more! Try it once and you'll be hooked, and dont forget to order some of the famous sweet buns! Pros: Sweet Buns, Service, Cost Cons: There's only one, so many great choices, Notings bad here! more

Perfect Place 7/30/2002

I have been dining at Brians for more than 10 years and the wait staff hasnt changed that much. This restaurant is a shining example of what so many chains try to be, warm, friendly and a great place to dine with friends! Just ask all of the regulars! more

Home Sweet Home 7/26/2002

Sit back and relax and enjoy a nice hometown breakfast. I love Brian's because it is so comfortable and appeals to all ages. Pros: Location, Food, Service more

Don't be fooled by reviews 6/23/2002

The reviews are obviously being written by either employees or customer brown nosers. Dirty, rude and greasy tasteless food rules this roost. Just check out the ceiling tiles that are brown instead of white. Check out the greasy paneling. You want mediocre (at best)? then come here. Pros: Sweet buns Cons: Outdated, Tasteless food more
