Best

As a long time patron of the Boulder Cafe I can't believe some of these other reviews! Clearly just a disgruntled employee and someone who arrived too late for Happy Hour. They do...

Worst

Boulder cafe will always have business because of it's convenient location; which may be the reason the servers are so careless and slow. I have been to this place about 10 times,...

Avoid if you like good service 6/17/2007

We should have learned our lesson the last time we went to the Boulder Cafe in Boulder and had a bad dinning experience. But we didn't and thought we'd give the Cafe another chance since the food is generally good. When asked what the specials were, our waiter responded "We have some, but I don't know what they are." Ok, not a big deal. I'm sure in a second or two he's going to say "But let me find out for you, I'll be right back." No such luck. We had to ask him to find out what they were for us. We ordered two appetizers and the empty appetizer trays were left in the middle of the table for the entire meal. With our main dishes and drinks competing for table space, it was really cramped. Maybe our waiter thought we'd get around to finishing off the last calamari piece and thoughtfully left it for us instead of asking if he could take the appetizer trays away when the main dishes arrived. Our empty glasses went unnoticed until the bill arrived. How hard is it to walk by your tables every five to ten minutes to top off water glasses and ask if a patron would like another bar drink? It appears to be a rare skill at this restaurant. Besides loosing income on lost drink sales, you risk loosing customers. If good service doesn't matter to you, give the Cafe a try. The food is generally good. more

Charged 2X for Arnold Palmer & Fraudulent Credit Card Charge 11/18/2005

This honestly happened during one visit to the Boulder Cafe. My wife ordered an Arnold Palmer and was charged for both, an iced tea and a lemonade ($2 each, $4 total). We could not believe the response from the waiter "that's our policy". We left and have not returned. IN ADDITION...my credit card statement arrived several weeks later. The charge from Boulder Cafe on the statement was $5 more than I had entered in Quicken. Best I could tell, somebody (the waiter?) changed a "three" into an "eight". I no longer had the receipt to back up my claim. I did not push the issue with the restaurant given my lack of evidence and since we believe the Cafe does not offer a unique value proposition. In other words, there are plenty of other options on the Mall. We have not missed it for a moment. more

The Boulder Cafe is in the heart of Boulder and offers excellent happy hour deals and great fondue! Seafood, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and more are available here. Stop by ans grab an outside table to catch the street performers. more
