Found this place while getting my guitar repaired in the same building. I kinda went in to kill some time, but ended up browsing for a couple hours. They had some really great books that I bought as gifts, and I even found a book on vintage guitars that I picked up for just a few bucks! Super cool staff too. Pros: Lot's of out-of-print books, not over-priced! more

Bookman is where I get my read on! 6/22/2009

Over the last few years I have acquired several titles from Book-man and have always been pleased with their selection. I have varied interest and have purchased everything from eastern philosophy, martial arts and Beat/Pop Culture. Used book pricing is reasonable and within the budget of even the most frugal bibliophile. Customer services is the best and the staff is knowledgeable. I highly recommend Book-man and suggest that you leave ample time to peruse their large selection of books. more

Good selection 3/19/2008

I really like how they have a whole lot more to offer than the average shop. They are pretty fair on prices as well, and it's a nice change from the big chains like barnes and noble and borders. more

I love this place!!! 2/13/2008

Definately one of the best bookstores I've ever been to. Their stock goes way beyond the best seller list. It's an excitement to shop there. The staff are very charming as well. more

Nice Used Bookstore 11/30/2005

The Bookman is a large used bookstore, with a good selection of fiction and nonfiction paperbacks, hardcovers and rarer, hard-to-find books. As with most used bookstores, the selection can range from okay to great depending on when you happen to visit the store. The romance selection is quite extensive and, overall, so is the entire fiction section. more

Great used book store! 11/26/2005

Bookman in Orange is probably the best used bookstore I've been to in a long time. The selection is amazing, I could spend all day browsing around. They have books in just about any category you can imagine. The prices are fair and the store is clean and neat with a very helpful staff. more

I've been to Bookman a few times over the years, and I must say that they have some of the best selections of any smaller book store around. Their selection is huge, and they also will buy books from you as well. It's always a good idea to check their website before going in to see their selection, but it can be fun to just go in and browse what they have to offer as well. Their prices are pretty reasonable, and it is a great place to go to find those books that are considered harder to find. Definitely recommended. PROS: great selection of books CONS: more

Bookman in Orange is a large used bookstore with a good selection of quality titles. The workers are polite and have a lot of personality. They are very competent and professional booksellers. If you bring books to sell there, they can very quickly go through them and give you a fair price for them. There is a separate section devoted to mass-market paperbacks at low price. Comfortable atmosphere for browsing, clean bathrooms, plenty of free parking. PROS: comfortable CONS: none more

Great Selection of used books 9/13/2005

I've been coming to this book store for 8 years now and their selection is huge. They have books from nearly every genre. The people at the front desk are knowledgeable and very helpful. The only con is that books are only marked down to half the cover price. If you're looking for used books in the Orange area, this is the place to go. PROS: Great Selection, Knowledgable staff CONS: not as cheap as other used book stores. more

Bookman used book store in Orange County in the city of Orange is a wonderful used book store mecca. A virtual buffet of used books. A vast selection and super low prices and all of their book are in great condition for being previously owned.Great location on the citys main drag with tons of parking available.Super employees that are very helpful. Great selection of used books but it helps if you know what you are looking for. I could spend hours searching through the variety of paperbacks. Almost all books are half off the cover price. Great prices more

I wish I still lived around the corner from this bookstore. They are a huge used bookstore, with every genre you could be looking for. I really like how this store is organized, and how helpful the employees have always been. They will buy your used books directly from you as well, and give you cash or credit. more

A good bet 7/14/2005

As with all used book stores, the selection of titles varies and it's a hit or miss experience when you're looking for something specific. I use their website first to see if they have what I'm looking for, then call ahead and have the item put on hold. Check back with them often; if they don't have what you're looking for, they might a few weeks later. more

Lots of Books! 6/1/2005

The quality and selection of the Bookman has slipped a bit over the last two years. I know they sell online, so maybe their inventory goes out faster than it comes in with this new service. Three commercial storefronts make up this bookstore. The inventory varies, like all used bookstores, from visit to visit. The history section is large, with few repeats, and I have purchased quite a few rare local history books from their offerings. The fiction section has many books, but quite a few are duplicate copies. If you are into the romance genre, then this is the place for you! I liked the store much better when they had the separate discount/sale paperback section as a separate store located a few doors down from the main business. The glass counters of rare and hard to find books sometimes will feature great books! The staff knows their inventory and goes out of their way to help. Great store!
