very honest 2/4/2012

my sound went out on my flat screen, called several TV repair places for pricing to come out and look at it. When Icalled Bonds and spoke to tony, I told him what the problem was, he suggested I reboot the cable box and that should fix it. It worked and he saved me from wasting money on repair service I did not need. None of the others I called even suggested I try that. They were more then happy to come and charge for unnecessary repairs. These guys are very honest and I would definatley recommend them. Pros: null Cons: null more

Great Company- Nice people 11/4/2011

I needed a lamp for a tv set. The tv was dead and a light informed me that the problem was with the lamp. My wife suggested we just buy a new tv, but being environmentally conscious and our tv being only a couple of years old, I decided to try to fix it. Called Bonds, spoke to Gary who told me how to replace the lamp. I picked up the lamp from a very friendly lady named Christina at Bonds TV. 10 minutes later, my tv was working like new. Best TV Repair in Austin 7/30/2011

WOW. This type of customer service is so hard to find. I called around looking for a TV repair as money is not readily available on trees. I received the best service I have received in a long time. The TV was repaired the same day and the cost of the repair was very fair. This company has been in business since 1954 for a reason. more

The people at Bonds were extremely helpful when I contacted them regarding a problem with my Sony T V. They were very informative about the particular problem I was having with it and we got it settled perfectly! Everyone there is friendly and efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your TV/stereo needs. more

Fast, Thorough and reasonable service 1/18/2011

Bonds has always been honest and fair in my dealings with them. Most recently they fixed a problem with my 34" HD TV in 2 days! It's hard to find anyone that works that fast these days. We are back enjoying our set after expecting to be without it for a couple of weeks. more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN AUSTIN! 11/10/2010

I would not recommend ANYONE to use this place. Their customer service is the absolute worst! I was promised my t.v to be returned to me within 7-10 ten days and it ended up taking over 3 weeks! They did not call me one time during that three weeks to let me know the status of my t.v. When I first took my t.v into Bond, I was given a price quote. Three days later when I called Mr. Bond (the owner) he tried to tell me a price quote over $100.00 more than what he had originally promised me. When I brought this to his attention he acted very non-shelant about it (and very unprofessional) like he had no idea what he was talking about in the first place. I had to call them a total of 6 times and find out any of the information that I needed, due to the fact that they would never call and update me. They did not ever update anything in their computer system, so any time that I called, if someone different answered the phone I was always back to square one because the employees never knew the status of my t.v or anything that I had discussed with the last person I spoke to previously. Every time I called I was told by an employee that they would figure out the problem and call me back however; I never received a call back EVER from ANYONE that worked at Bond. They were extremely difficult to communicate with and refused to compensate me for the extended time they took in fixing my t.v or their poor customer service. This place is a pathetic excuse for an Austin business and needs to stop wasting people's time and money. DONT BOTHER! more

I never had better customer service 10/13/2010

Bond,s replaced the optical engine on my 5 year old 50" Hitachi about 1 year ago and the service was excellent.. This week my picture just went went black so I called Bond's. I spoke with Gary and he suspected the lamp went out. He took the time on the phone to walk me through pulling the front panel, opening a small door to access and remove the lamp unit and sure enough the lamp was bad. Gary said they had the lamp in stock. I drove to the store and they replaced it in a matter of a few minutes at a cost equal to what I would have paid for just the lamp online. Service, actual knowledge. Don't let the Old School scare! 8/18/2010

These guys have been here for many, many years. You wouldn't appreciate the vibe if you are a typical Best Buy / Fry's customer. Mr. Bond has seen it all in the television manufacturing business. Gary (the salesman) has been at Bond's for 30 something years, as well as the guys doing the repairs. more

Wonderful Experience 7/31/2010

Mr. Bonds helped us save $$$ and provided fast service. Not only did we find the owner of a service oriented business working on a Saturday, but he went above and beyond by encouraging us to call Mitzsubishi to see if we could get their assistance (the manuf. warranty had ran out). Turns out it was a known problem and they are paying for the part. Way to go Bonds TV!!! We will absolutely return and recommend this fine local business to all that will listen. VERY QUESTIONABLE 7/26/2010

Supporting local business is important to me, and these guys are an institution. But I just picked my TV up from Bond's - the sound still doesn't work and I'm $140 poorer. It's a long and painful story. Short version: had to pay $140 just to get them to look at it, and despite my telling them it was cheap to replace and not worth fixing if major, they wanted to get my approval for major repairs. All this with me having to call them repeatedly to find out what was going on. more

Excellent and fast service! 6/18/2010

The bulb on my DLP TV finally burned out so I contacted Bonds on the advice of a friend. They checked and thought they had a replacement part that would fit so I agreed to visit the shop the next Monday to pick it up. Pros: Personalized service, knowledgeable staff. Cons: Not open long on weekends. more

Bond's Is Great! 5/13/2010

I have been to Bond's twice and they have been excellent both times!!! Very fast service. Dropped the tv off on Tuesday, got a call Wednesday night at home about the problem and estimate, picked the tv up on Thursday at lunch. Only $127!! more

Bonds TV is a store on West Lynn that has been there a long time. If you have never been on West Lynn, it's a cool street with a few small shops, plus Bonds TV. You should check out Bonds. It has the coolest old televisions on the sales floor, plus new ones. Pros: You actually talk to a nice person when you call them!! Cons: I wish that I had known about them when I bought my TV more

Do you remember when we did not have to be searched to board an airplane, we left our doors unlocked, watched out for each other's kids, we trusted other people until they gave us a reason not to, and we always tried to do the right thing ... even when no one else would know? Great, Honest TV Repair 3/1/2010

I had a dead TV that was going to be very expensive to replace. The guys at Bond's knew just what the problem was, and helped me get the manufacturer to rebuild the chassis - all much cheaper than a new TV. They were very helpful, and much faster than I expected. Bond's Television was a great find 1/25/2010

After spending some agonizing hours attempting to find a local service rep through both the extended warranty company and the Home Theater Store, I did some searching on my own and found Bond's and was lucky enough to speak with a technician named Elvis who was not only knowledgeable but advised me of a thermal sensor recall by the manufacturer. Elvis promptly serviced my Mitsubishi DLP TV with no charge to me last year and I just purchased a new lamp for the DLP this past Saturday and was delighted at the service I received both on the phone and in person. THESE GUYS ARE TERRIFIC and their collection of old tv's is amazing (it will really take you back). Thank you for your great service! Pros: knowledgeable, professional and friendly Cons: none more
