I'll keep this short and sweet. We reserved a private dining room for a special event. Needless-to-say, we were forgotten about from the time we sat down. Our waiter had tables on the other side of the restaurant, so we paid the price for that. We had to request water, and bread - twice. Not sure why since they had the reservation for over 2 weeks, why the table wasn't set with water, bread, etc before we arrived is beyond me. There were 9 in our party and they brought 2 - 1/2 empty baskets with bread and 2 TINY dishes with dipping sauce. The waiter was lost again so we had to literally get up and go to the other side to request more bread and sauce. Appetizers were disappointing. The meatballs tasted like they were made ahead and frozen - absolutely awful. Calamari was not A quality, and they dressed the two platters with ""teaspoons"" for serving. At one point, we were refilling our own wine glasses -no waiter, no water, nothing! Entrees were less than satisfactory. The food came out in piece mail and was plated on COLD plates. Some ordered steak - tough, the veal was chewy and not tenderized properly and the linquini was not even al dente - chewy and undercooked. Again we went on our search for the waiter. Oh, he poked his head in a full 10 minutes after service to ask if everything was ok - too late. When we asked for a desert layout (we forgot to bring the cake) we requested a layout of desert cake with candles - the cake came out, literally on top of each other and no candles. He walked in the room and just placed it in front of the WRONG person. I guess this review is not so short or sweet, and maybe when they first opened they came out swinging, but it is clear those days are long gone. Bon Caldo misses the mark completely. If you're looking for atmosphere, great service and food, drive right by!
