Beer is excellent, food is 100% average. 9/29/2007

I like going out to eat. However, as part of my dining experience, I would like to be exposed to new dishes, flavors, etc. The problem with going out to eat seemingly anywhere in this city (including Bocktown) is that THE FOOD IS ALL THE SAME! They serve burgers, grilled sandwiches and salads with french fries in them. Yawn. Go find me a restaurant in this town that doesn't serve that sort of thing! I mean for crying out loud, the specialty (aside from the beer) is their french fries. While there's nothing wrong with them, it's just that the most exciting thing about them is that you can get a bunch of wacky toppings for them like olives, or pickles. Since when does putting goofy things on french fries make them special?! \r The only saving grace for this establishment is the wide variety of (good) beers that are available either on tap or in the coolers. However, my complaint is that the only thing worth going to this place for is the beer; there are places people can go to get a bunch of different types of beers. THEY'RE CALLED BARS! I mean, they do serve very good beer, stuff you typically won't find at your typical yinzer bar, but that's another issue itself. People around here think that IC Light or Coors Light are perfectly decent beers, hence the reason that the most exotic beer typically served is Blue Moon. \r \r The wait staff was friendly and did seem to know their beers which was nice when faced with a dozen or more drafts and their touted 400+ bottled selections.\r \r If nothing else, this place is similar to D's Six Pax shop over in Regent Square. It would be nice if the food were anything more than just average. Pros: Great beer selection Cons: Food is blah more
