Boccia's D'itlaia

This used to be a great restaurant. It is now under new management. The food is terrible and is way overpriced. Save your money and go to the Olive Garden or stay home and make your own italian. The service wasn't very great either. An almost empty restaurant on a Saturday night should have been a warning. more

Last night I had the most wonderful eating out experience at Boccias. Right when I walked in a was greeted by the hostess and we were seated in the lovely sunroom. Let me say that I have been to Italy, so have have very high standards when eating Italian. The server informed me of the special, which was salmon cakes served of mixed greens with some sort of basil mint orange vinaigrette, I was a little nervous about trying it, so she brought me out a small sample of the vinaigrette to try. It was easily one of the best dressing I had ever had. My boyfriend is a very picky eater. He ordered the Sausage and Peppers Rustica. The server informed us that the sausage they use is local, along with several other items on the menu. The server brought him out several of Boccias homemade dressings to try, all of which were amazing. Our food was beautifully plated. It felt like we were eating at a five star restaurant in Italy. The salmon cakes were incredible. My boyfriend loved the Sausage and Peppers. The sausage had a great flavor. \r \r Then there was dessert. We ordered the deep dish cookie. I would go back for that alone!\r \r I look forward to going back and trying other weekend specials. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a great eating experience, excellent food, for a small price. Save your money, folks. This place makes Olive Garden look like Chez Panisse. Even the frozen chicken parm from the supermarket is superior to what we were served and at $13 it was vastly overpriced. We first discovered this restaurant a couple of months ago and immediately fell in love. By far best pizza in Ogden. The service and food have always been great. A must try! more

My husband and I have been to Boccia's twice, and we enjoyed it both times. The first time, we took my grandparents there, who were visiting from out of state, on the recommendation of a neighbor. The server was not only attentive, but she was incredibly kind and conversational with my grandparents, to whom I expected her to pay polite lip service and be on her way. My grandfather said that the Eggplant Parmesan he had there was the best he had ever eaten, and being both widely traveled, my grandparents have eaten in many, many restaurants. \r \r We enjoyed it so much that we brought a friend who was visiting from out of state. The server at that time was a little slow, but adequate, and the food was just as fabulous as the first time. The prices seemed pretty average, to me, for this type of restaurant. I mean, you could get these prices at The Olive Garden, but you wouldn't have the experience of eating in a unique restaurant. \r \r It did seem a little strange to be eating Italian in a renovated barn, but the atmosphere inside was warm and comfortable. The lighting was dim enough to be intimate but bright enough to see everything. The tables had red-checked tablecloths on them (they were vinyl, but it still added a little something), and the restaurant itself is small enough to be intimate without feeling crowded. Of course, we went late during the week, so there were few customers, but I liked that, because it was quiet and peaceful. You could actually have a conversation with your dinner partners without having to talk loud or yell. It was very relaxing. \r \r The only thing I would avoid is the dinner theater. It was overpriced, and the acting was good, but the plot was bad. It seemed apparent that the actors were doing the best they could with what they had. The food was served buffet-style and on the level of a Cici's or, even worse, what you could make at home. \r \r Overall, I give the restaurant 5 stars, and the dinner theater 2, maybe 3. The empty parking lot should have been enough for us to go to another place. But being a week night we decided to give it a try. Food was not good and was also overpriced. Considering that o.k. Italian food can be made by opening cans and using frozen stuff, I think they had to work hard to get it so bad. more

Wow, where do I start? Well, it is really quaint, I mean it is a remodeled barn. But meh, you do what you can. We waited a little bit to be seated, although there was no one else in the lobby. Plenty of employees took the time to socialize in the kitchen (you know, i love to get paid to socialize, too). We were seated in the annex, and the sound was awful. Any noise was amplified tenfold such that you could not carry on a normal conversation without yelling. The waitress thought she was in a tornado, and her service reflected it. My friend had heard about the marinara sauce; however, I could have gotten just as good at Little Ceasers. The mozzarella sticks and calamari were pretty good, although that was just supposed to appease my appetite. The salad accompanying the main entrees was not really salad. It was more like cabbage and carrots with a few lettuce pieces. I had the chicken parmigiana and my wife the chicken fettuccini alfredo; both had breaded, burnt, dry chicken breasts. When the girl brought out our food she honestly told us she did not know what each dish was (as if it were her job to know . . . really). The Sprite was not too bad. Not to mention, all this was rather overpriced. So, if you feel like wasting money for glorified, oversized TV dinner with an atmosphere reflectant of a archaic candlelit cow stall, Boccia's D'Italia is your place. I went with co workers, we were treated very good here. The owner came out and talked to us and left several times to make sure all his customers were taken care of. I would return a million times ! I am telling everyone I know that this is the place to go. I as a matter of fact, plan on taking my beautiful wife to this establishment. The server was very professional and made sure we had everything we needed.\r Very nice place. I had a Philly Steak Wrap, I have never had such good food! \r GO ! You will not be disapointed! Friday night My wife and I go to Boccia's for the first time.We were told by our friends to try this place.So the person that I am I check The reveiws most were great some not so good.Well everyone has there oppinion So we go.Well they must be doing something right we waited 20 min to get in.and I have to say it was well worth the wait. not only was this a real Italian restaurant but its owned by a real Italian New Yorker.Mr Boccia was there and we saw him go from table to table checking on his guest when he came to our table we told him how much we loved his place and this was our first time as busy as his place was he still took the time to sit to get to know us even if he didnt I still would say that place is great and the food was to die for. And Mr Boccia truly cares about his guest.My wife had the seafood pasta and I had the Trio cant wait to go back and try somthing else.Our recom' would be to check this place out you won't be disapointed everyone has an oppinion make your own Im glad I did .I will never go to olive Garden again more

I had the spaghetti with meatballs and have certainly had much better. The food was entirely unremarkable. The atmosphere wasn't all that, either. But hey, if you really like strip malls and bland food, this may just be the place for you. more
