Blue Note LP Restaurant

My family of ten decided to celebrate the birthday of our father last night at the Blue Note, and what an evening it turned out to be! The service was extremely helpful and efficient (I used to serve so I know great service) and the dinner was excellent. The thing I was most impressed with was that I had brought my own Birthday cake in for my father, and asked if the Chef could slice it up for us and plate it. My server informed me that the kitchen does not ordinarly present desserts that are not made in house, but since we were unaware of this they would help us out. They ended up presenting the cake with candles and the owners orchestrated the jazz band to sing my father a great sounding version of ""Happy Birthday""! My dad was extremely flattered. Don't be fooled by the sign at the door that says the hours are 5:30 till closing. Arriving at 10:35 after the NC Symphony on a Saturday night my party was asked several times ""What do you want dessert or a drink?"" We were made to feel like a bother instead of a welcome guest. Finally a table was cleaned for us near the jazz band and we sat down at 10:40. At 10:45 promptly the jazz band said goodnight and packed up. Of course the Duke - Carolina game was still on in the bar. I think the owners need to make up their minds about what type of establishment they are running - a jazz supper club or a sports bar. Just took a work group of 16 people to Blue Note for Dinner. The food was incredible. Everyone had a phenominal meal. The atmosphere was wonderful and a big topic of conversation. The layout, art and decor, lighting, all impressive. The service was great, which was not easy with a group that size. It's a bit pricy, but very well worth it. I took my husband there for his birthday. Now it's the only restaurants he want to eat at. The services is one of the best. The people there know their wine! I hope Cary keeps this one. Pros: services, food, wine more

Our experience at Blue Note was nothing, but outstanding. The beautiful atmosphere, the fabulous Jazz, and the wonderful food. I can't think of a better place to eat American gourmet food. Pros: ambience, food, music more

I first walked into this establishment and was simply visually forefilled. Greeted by the owners (which is a lost art) and was escorted to a table where it was soothing to the eyes and energetic with the noise from the Jazz band. Right then I knew its was going to be a great experience.
