Unique and pleasing dinner destination 12/12/2011

I noticed that most of the reviews for Blossom are several years old, so I thought I would provide an update. Blossom is one of East Bay Street's best places for dinner. It's not necessarily for tourists, but anybody who appreciates fine dining should enjoy Blossom. We've been going there for nearly 10 years and have almost always left feeling very happy. It's especially good for dinner. Over the last year, we've noticed the lunch menu to be a little less exciting and exotic as it used to be. Still, going there at lunch and enjoying one of their signature Bloody Marys cannot be beat. Off-street parking is available evenings adjacent to Blossom. more

Blossom Cafe is very good. 9/10/2009

We ate at Blossom Cafe and really liked it. It wasn't quite as good as Magnolias. We had salads, pasta and seafood dishes. Everything tasted very fresh and looked beautiful. Staff was friendly. more

A bit disappointing 12/8/2008

Six of us ate at Blossom and had grand expectations before we entered. None of us had dined there before, but it was recommended to us.\r \r The service was fine, prices were high, food was so mediocre that aside from stellar dessert menu, the six of us, without exception all said it was okay, but not worth the price. Perhaps we caught the kitchen on a bad night, but for the money, you have many other places to choose from that will meet or exceed expectations when dining at a fine restaurant.\r \r Blossom owner also owns Cypress and Magnolia's (both right next door). I would completely skip Blossom if you can get into Magnolia's or Cypress. more

Good food but very loud! 11/9/2008

We had dinner at Blossom to celebrate our 8th anniversary. Unfortunately, it was too cold to sit outside otherwise we would have, as it looked very intimate/quaint/romantic on their little side patio area. Pros: great bar/bartender, good value, easy access to parking, good food Cons: loud, lacked menu variety, no artistic food preparation more

Blossom is Awesome! 10/17/2008

My husband and I eat at Blossom every opportunity we get! Blossom offers free parking, a fun atmosphere and really good food. Make sure you try the crab cakes, they will melt in your mouth! more

Just awful 6/5/2008

We were visiting Charleston for a business meeting. We were at Blossom for lunch and ordered the Crab Ravioli. It was chewy and tasteless. We complained to the waitress and she said that that happens sometimes and we just got a bad batch. Eric the manager said too bad for us, it's their signature dish, but the only way to fix it to make it consistently good would be to roll the pasta thiner or in his words ""cook the *#@* out of it"" Neither offered any compensation. They knowingly serve it when it is bad and charge $15.00 a serving. We went to Cypress (their sister restaurant) for dinner with our group and it was very nice, but Blossom was the worst experience we have had at a restaurant in quite awhile. Cons: Food and service more

the atmosphere is as good as the food and the service.... 10/11/2007

me and my wife and her sister went to blossom recently on a busy saturday night. we did not have a reservation but were told by the hostess that it would only be about ten to fifteen minutes to get a table which we agreed to. We were lucky enough to find a cocktail table in their waiting area and ordered some drinks. No sooner than the girl brought our drinks out the hostess informed us that we could be seated as soon as we would like. As i paid my tab the girls went to the table. Once i got to the table the girls had already decided on appetizers of fried calamari and tuna carpaccio, both of which were out of this world. Most all of my experience with calamari is of the rubberband variety but these were delicious. Then for my main course i had the crab ravioli which was huge and stuffed me to the gills. My wife had the rare tuna over coconut rice and said it was great. Her sister had the salmon and agreed with my wife that it was good as well When all was said and done we were to full to sample any desserts but the table next to us said they were to die for. We can't wait to get back downtown and try out some of their sweet stuff. Our server was right on with his timing of everything and was never pushy Overall i recommend when you're in town stop in Blossom for a real treat. Thankyou Blossom for making a relatives visit to town very memorable. Pros: good martini list, good wine list, good food Cons: little noisy, more
