Blooming Moon Wellness Spa

Blooming Moon is by far my favorite spa in Portland, and I've checked out quite a few. I usually visit a variety of places for different services, but after a year and a half it's hard to think about going anywhere other than Blooming Moon. Their wide variety of services are consistently amazing. Ginny is by far the best eyebrow waxer in Portland...and I'm pretty particular about how I like them done. She's seriously made an art of it. Her facials are a bit like dying and going to heaven. If I could I'd treat everyone I love to one of these! I've been to lots of spas where they'll put a mask on you and leave the room, but not at Blooming Moon. From start to finish she's working on you're body... whether it's a hand massage or the killer foot massage. Total pampering. Not to mention my skin felt great and sparkled for days after. Everyone that works there is cool, friendly and real. And they're incredibly knowledgeable about the products they carry. They just moved to N Killingsworth and the new location is stunning. Spacious, two floors, huge, private rooms and an outdoor cedar hot tub on the way! Not to mention they're right next door to this awesome wine bar Hop and Vine....Perfect day. Funny to think I walked into Blooming Moon a year ago, randomly looking for a brow wax and found my favorite spa in Portland. more

Stressed out skin meets ladies with solutions! After years of great skin, I found myself stressed out with bad skin. I tried the New Seasons array of fantastic products that had normally worked for me to be falling short. Solution (thankfully): Blooming Moon Wellness Spa! The ladies are absolute experts. My skin is back to it's normally healthy Oregon girl glow. You can't mess around with your skin, it just says so much about you. This is my standby spa, thank you Blooming Moon! more

I booked a message for my girlfriend here a few weeks ago after going back and forth between here and a few other spas. I decided to stick with Blooming Moon after reading the other reviews and I couldn't be happier. It was her first time going to a spa and was a little anxious about the whole thing but once we got there they immediately made her feel comfortable and at ease. I was feeling tight and sore from being involved in physical activities lately and needed some bodywork to loosen up. I went in to Blooming Moon for a Deep Tissue massage and came out feeling great. Caroline gave me amazing deep work with a personal and relaxing touch. The atmosphere was wonderful and peaceful and all the spa staff were great. The service was top notch. They have many services guaranteed to customize to anyone's needs. more

I came to the Blooming Moon on my day off last week for a facial and foot soak and scrub. The facial was wonderful - the esthetician seemed to apply endless masks and really tended to my skin, asking questions along the way, and recommended some really good products for me as well, based on my sensitive skin. I didn't know what to expect for the milk foot soak, since I've never had one before, but it sounded like a good idea. I sat on a fluffy couch in a candlelit room with lots of pillows as they brought in a huge turquoise basin of hot, lime scented water. Since I'm vegan, I requested coconut milk instead of regular milk in the water, which they were MORE than happy to do. The papaya foot scrub was amazing - it smelled like i was on an island! I left the spa with the Epicuren fine herbal scrub (i never exfoliate enough!), and some aloe for moisturizer (it was only $9!). I love how close the spa is located to shopping and amazing food! I had a wonderful massage the other day from Hilary. I felt so relaxed and loosened up. She gives a great deep tissue and hot stone massage. I would highly recomend her to sooth your aches and pains!!!! She is friendly and easy to talk to and will make you feel a million times better. more

Took my wife here the other day for a ""spa day"". She loved it. Said the staff were wonderful and the massage and facial were the best she'd had. When I walked in to check the place out, a few days before, prior to taking my wife there, the receptionist was welcoming, very willing to let me preview the facilities, and made the process very easy. Ginny at Blooming Moon Wellness Spa is the place to go if you want to look 10 years younger!! \r \r Ginny's facials are so relaxing and after I am done my skin feels so soft and I am glowing. \r I really look 10 years younger after every facial.\r \r You can't beat the price either. Well if you ever need an appointment for a facial or a wax on Mondays or Tuesdays Casey is definitely your girl at Blooming Moon!\r This place has the gretest deals on facials- only $60 on Mondays. AND They are currently running a special which includes a foot soak and hour and half massage with full a body sugar scrub treatment- which is to die for AND it includes a 30 minute mini facial for a $150 and you can upgrade to an hour facial for just $30.\r For someone who is always looking for quality without spending a lot of money- this is the treatment for you. I have been going to Ginny for years and she knows her stuff. It is hard to find such a great spa professional who is great at what she does and also has a sparkling personality. I love this spa because they offer top notch services at very reasonable prices. (Ginny gives THE BEST facials and Rachel THE BEST massages in Portland hands down.) Ive been to many high end spas and paid twice the prices for 1/2 as good services. Ginny doesnt charge you more to pay for her over the top posh waiting room and a glass of cheap wine. She has created a relaxing, zen like nest that you will not want to leave. Ginny's facials feel wonderful but more importantly - you will see and feel a difference in the texture of your skin. I love the Blooming Moon Wellness Spa. It is very conveniently located and has parking behind which is a treat in the Northwest section of Portland. Gaia is very talented in the art of massage. I saw her when I was 7 months pregnant and then post C-section and she was magnificent both times. Ginny, the owner, runs a smooth operation and is a consummate professional. Blooming Moon has an awesome staff that makes you feel good from the moment you pick up the phone to when you enter their door. After you've received an amazing massage that is for sure going to make you into an addict you will never want to go anywhere else. I've made appointments to get waxed there and the ladies really pay attention to details as though they were doing it for themselves. Nothing but perfection and it's consistent every time. My experience with the ladies who gives massages has been nothing but addicted. Their touch is fabulous and when I walked out of there, I was anticipating my next appointment. The lotion I bought here was well worth every cent. The fragrance is natural, not to oil or thick and I get a lot of compliments on the texture of my skin. I can't say enough good things about Ginny's facials. I received a gift certificate from my boyfriend for one of Ginny's facials and I was amazed at the results. I am 52 and I had never had a facial before. My skin responded so well to her facial treatment. The deeper lines diminished to much finer lines, the lines around my mouth and eyes were barely visable afterwards, my pores diminished, and . . . the acne-prone area around me chin cleared up for weeks without further problems. The mask, chemical peel and other treatments she used on my face worked wonders. (My boyfriend immediately noticed.) Not to mention the wonderful facial, neck, shoulder, arms, hands and feet massage that she throws in on top of this wonderful facial. Well, now I'm hooked! I talked my boyfriend into giving me another gift certificate 60 days later, which I used this week. I've now decided that I can't live without them and I plan to treat myself every other month to a facial, as I think they are a necessity if you are trying to ward off the extra wrinkles and can't afford plastic surgery. I'm so hooked that I'm going to give my grown daughters gift certificates for facials and/or massages as they will absolutely love them. (Plus, I love the convenience of the free parking behind their building.) I tell everyone I know about Blooming Moon as it is one of the best Salons in town. Update, a year later....I have been going to Casey for facials, waxing, eyebrow and eyelash tinting etc. for the past year and have always had great results. She has had excellent suggestions for my skin that has really helped my skin continue to look great even a month after my facial. Also the eyelash tinting seems to last longer than anywhere else I have had it done. \r Sept. 2009: The facial was so great, I came out refreshed and looking like a new woman. She also did eyelash tinting (I highly recommend this for us blond women, I hardly have to wear mascara) and eyebrow tinting and even waxing. Everything was wonderful, I can't wait to go back. It has been my total pleasure to receive pre-natal massages from Rachael Vollmer. She made me feel so welcome and comfortable. Her attention to detail and attentiveness to how I was feeling was wonderful! She found all of my aches and pains, even the ones I didn't know I had, and soothed them completely. I always leave feeling totally relaxed and much better than when I came. It has been a while since I had a facial with Ginny but my memory was so vivid and special I couldn't imagine it would be quite as good again. I was wrong. I honestly can't remember when I was as relaxed and peaceful as I was during my facial. I LOVE that with the facial comes a shoulder, arm, foot and leg massage.
