First, I have to say that the icecream is very good. It is creamy and flavorful. The issue is the price and size. Well, I guess it's just the size. Their small has only one scoop and their kiddie size is about one third the size of a small. I am spoiled going to Crescent Ridge in Sharon, where the portions are absolutely huge, as well as a number of other summer time icecream stands that have two scoops in a small as standard. So, to get two scoops, you need to get a large. I can only remember another icecream place like this that only has one scoop for the small and it is Spruce Pond Creamery in Franklin, good icecream but small portions (they also have a cafe where you can eat inside). If you love the Black Cow Cafe in Millis and you are living around Natick, Framingham, Sudbury, or Wellesley areas. I have a surprise for you, you don't have to travel far and save $$$ on gas; there is a second Black Cow in Natick; a ""Hidden Jewel"". It's in Natick Crossing strip Mall 251 West Central Street, Natick, MA. It's right next to Subway Restaurant and West Natick Commuter Rail Station. All the ice cream are homemade and they come from Black Cow Cafe in Millis. I went there this Memorial Day with my family. The kids loved the chocolate ice cream on waffle cones, the wife had a Low Fat Soft-serve in a cup. I had the Strawberry Ice Cream Float. The portions are very generous and the prices are reasonable. The place is clean, great service, polite, friendly. and plenty of parking spaces. We'll definitely go back with the kids and recommend this Natick Black Cow Ice Cream Shop to our friends and co-workers. I can't wait to try the Guiness Ice Cream!!! I started going to Black cow ice cream since they were on Phantom gourmet. What a find and well worth the trip.( i come from j.p.) Most people that go for the first time do not know you can eat inside because they have 4 takeout windows. They seat about 35 inside and it is very cafe like.The flavors are original such as banana oreo to gingersnap in mollasses and capitol hill.( Marashino cherries in almond ice cream)You never know what flavors will be on the board because they change quickly. They always have the standards like choc., oreo, vanilla, ect. But the special flavors trump them. The ice cream is the smoothest you will ever taste. The place is always cold inside, so if you are trying to escape the heat this is the place. Service is always great because Wally takes pride in everything he does. Clean is the word in this place. This place has a great atmosphere and the Black Cow Icecream menu is outstanding!!! I wish the store opens all year round. The overall icecream was superb, creamy and smooth. I went there almost every other day during Spring, Summer, and Fall. It was a perfect dessert with many great choices of flavors !!! a ""must try""!!!. I can have Black Cow icecream everyday.
