True Fine Dining 5/13/2005

""Fine Dining"" seems to be overused these days to describe many restaurants. Places that don't have the atmosphere, the service, the linens, the flatware, the wine glasses, the wine selection and so much more that defines fine dining, but most of all the food. BistroM however, is the very definition of Fine Dining, a real gem for McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley. Chef Marcel and staff serve some of the best wine selections and gourmet food around along with tremendous amounts of attention to detail and care. There is no better place to dine in the RGV, and from what i have seen in my travels, Bistro M ranks with the best on a national scale. Pros: food, service, wine more

Delectable 5/13/2005

We have been long overdue for a true fine dining restaurant. At first sight this quaint little restaurant looks like a café out of a European travel magazine, once inside the cozy atmosphere, soft music and décor give a feeling of home. The food is delectable. The staff is friendly and the Chef makes it a priority to visit with you personally to make sure everything was to your satisfaction. The wine list is out of this world, and the desserts are to die for. In my opinion, this is the only restaurant in the area worth personally endorsing. Pros: Excellent service, Reasonably prices, Quality food more

What a great place to unwind. 5/11/2005

It felt like getting a massage, so relaxing and enjoyable. The food is just Mmmm,(I think that's where they got the name). The atmosphere, the lighting, the music, so European. They made me forget that I was in the Valley for a while. Pros: Food Quality, Pastry Chef, Winelist more

Bistro M. classy joint 3/31/2004

Bistro M is a place like no other in the Valley. The night we dined at Bistro M, the service was impeccable, comparable to any of the ""big city"" restaurants we've been to over the years. The food was interesting and delicious. Chef Marcel personally explained several of the dishes. When the chef/owner of a restaurant is present, it makes all the difference in the world. It is not cheap! But worth it every once and a while Pros: food, service, ambiance more

Bistro M is Excellent 3/29/2004

Bistro M is expensive, but the food is excellent. The personal service you receive from Chef Marcel and Chef Tiffany really adds to the experience. The food is so good that you don't mind paying the higher price. You never leave disappointed or feel that you have been taken. The desserts prepared by Chef Tiffany are also excellent. The presentation from the table settings to the artistic way the food is displayed make you feel like you have had an awesome dining ""experience."" I highly recommend Bistro M. Pros: Perfect Amviance, great service, individual attention more

Dining At It's Finest 3/29/2004

Having lived in a few states and for the greater part of my life worked in the food industry, I would highly recommend this restaurant to all who would like to experience fine european cooking. Each plate has it's own distinct flavour so you don't get bored as you move from course to course. Dion Pros: menu selection, beverage selection, flavour of food Cons: , waiter food knowledge more
