I am dissatisfied with having to forcibly pay a maintenance service fee to be included with my monthly rent. These are 2 separate bills and items. The company takes no responsibility for the negligence committed on behalf of the property owner. The nature of the maintenance problem would not have happened had a certain item been removed prior to leasing the property. The company was more concerned with what the worker stated caused the problem instead what allowed the problem to occur. They do not work for the rentor at all. more

Property Management is OK - Attitude is not great 6/16/2016

We have used Birch Management to manage a rental property, and they have some great systems in place to quickly turn around rental properties with the goal to keep someone in the property and address issues. Their documentation and electronic systems are great. The one complaint we have had is their customer service attitude is such that they have a hard time admitting that they have areas of their service that could be improved. When faced with customer complaints about not being able to reach a person on the phone, they put out a newsletter to say that while people have complained about not being able to reach someone, we are doing a great job and handling so many calls. When faced with a complaint about maintenance charges that are excessive, they simply say that we stand by our workers and our charges are cheap compared to others. If they would only admit that there are areas that could be improved and apologize for their failures, that would go a long way to demonstrate good customer service. more

Not in you best Interest 9/18/2015

Dear Investors/Property owners, BEWARE! If you are looking for a management company to look out in your best interest and to maintain your rental property with ease. Please do yourself a favor and not choose this company. Between the high maintenance fees and service charges for their low quality services will eat up all your profit. Do you research? more

They gave keys to complete strangers while we still lived in the home. 11/20/2014

If I could rate Birch Management any lower I would. I warn all potential landlords and tenants to stay away. Tenants you can see the other reviews for yourself. However, I chose them to manage my property in Greensboro. They had people show up without any advance notice several times and enter the home, but with as agent. As indicated in the other reviews, you can never reach anyone and in my case I could never speak to the same person twice in a row. The person assigned as my property manger up and quit. I was not notified and only found out when I decided to go with a different agency. At that point, I was quoted direct lines from the contract indicating I would be on the hook for several fees since they now had an "approved applicant" ready to move into the home. I called their bluff and the "approved applicant" never materialized. However, on the very same day they indicated all the fees I would be on the hook for because of the contract, THEY GAVE OUT KEYS TO COMPLETE STRANGERS WITH US STILL LIVING IN HOME. MY WIFE AND KIDS CAME HOME TO FIND TWO MEN AND TWO WOMEN ROAMING THE HOUSE AND LOOKING THROUGH OUR BELONGINGS. THIS IS IN VIOLATION OF THEIR OWN CONTRACT: To allow prospective tenants and others, at the discretion of the Agent, to enter into the Property, unaccompanied by Agent or any representative, and to provide such person(s) with a key to the Property, provided the Property is vacant and such person(s) execute a Key Checkout Agreement before receiving a key to the Property. The property wasn't vacant and the individuals frightened my wife and kids. In short, don't be surprised to find someone in your home, even while you (and your family) are living there if you use Birch Management to manage your property. more
