Excellent bike store 6/22/2010

Good: Just go meet Nate and tell him what you want. He's very up-front and will get right down to the nitty-gritty to help solve your problem for a very reasonable price. If he didn't have what you need, he'll tell you good options.. Bad: Nothing so far.. Improvements: I just need to get better acquainted with what Nate and his staff can do to make my bike even better.. Other: Without question the best place I've gone in Eugene; I got service way beyond what I expected and it came without some high nose attitude. Go see for yourself - I'm sure you will agree.. more

pricing 11/11/2009

Some of the reviews are based on pricing however when I checked the MSRP on the Haro web site and compared them with the price tags at the Bike Barn I noticed about a 10% mark-up, also I notice that the Haro web site states that the actual retail price may vary based on any added dealer freight, tax and assembly fees. It seems unfair to criticize this store for pricing when the consumer has no idea the price that the dealer pays for the product. Ask for a discount maybe you will get one.!!!!!! more

bike barn a rip off 6/21/2009

If you like to pay 30% over the retail price for your bikes then you will love this place. Check the maufacturers websites and you will see that the bikes in this shop are overpriced by 30%. Thats a lot of extra money on a 500 to 1500 dollar bike. The worst part is that they smile and act as if its your fault that they have to rip you off because you are shopping in a small local bike shop. I learned a long time ago that the only time a used car salesman smiles is when he's ripping you off and you dont even know it. I was acctually told that the owner didnt care if she lost my business because someone else would just pay the higher price. That someone else could be you. Oh and by the way dont expect them to bring their price down to "earn " your business by selling the bike at full retail instead of 30% over retail.... they wont, if you do not want to be ripped off then they do not want your business. more

Bike Barn Eugene,Or. 4/2/2009

Good: I bought my first Oregon bike in 95 at the Bike barn while they were located on Coburg rd. I still have that bike and just took it in for a brake upgrade. All the people there know bikes! The prices are excellent too.If I were to buy a new one I would buy there... Other: Why go elsewhere?. more

Bike Barn 5/30/2006

I recently went into this business to research what kind of bikes are available. The salesman was very attentive and talked to me extensively about bikes and also gave good advice about how to prevent my bike from being stolen. He gave me a personal tip and showed me some heavy duty locks. There is an interesting antique bike in this shop. They have some rentals including a two seater recumbent type of bike that looked like fun. Since this is a small store in a plaza, it is a bit hard to find. It is near GI Joe's. more
