I think this is probably the best place to stay in Valdez 5/11/2011

We ended up staying at this hotel after arriving at another facility that definitely did not meet our needs. The location is great, right on the harbor. And our room had a nice view of the harbor. I think this is probably the best place to stay in Valdez! more

Will definitely stay there again 5/11/2011

We stayed 2 nights at this place and absolutely loved it! Maybe they had just renovated our room. Everything was spotlessly clean and new-looking, especially the bathroom. We went kayaking in the pouring rain for a day, and so the clean room and the nice hot shower were a God-send at the end of the day. Even the window sill and everything looked brand-new. Will definitely stay there again!!! more

Our room was in great conditions 5/9/2011

Valdez Best Western is a really nice place. Our room was in great conditions abd beds were ultra comfy. The location is superb and we watched the harbor area in the morning. Staff ws pleasant. The free breakfast was superb - actually it was in the nice restaurant in the hotel instead of beakfast room somewhere in the lobby. The waitress/host were easy to deal with and they had really great atmosphere with equally great views. more

We would stay here again 5/5/2011

Many of the motels in Valdez look very basic, but once in the room at the Best Western, we felt as though the comfort was great. The room had great blackout curtains; the hotel laundry area was clean. We would stay here again for certain. more

"We stayed here one night before we took the ferry to whittier. This was so close you could walk to the ferry. The hotel was booked so plan ahead. There was a continental breakfast. The room was larger than others we stayed in. TV was updated and the bathroom was roomy. There was a free internet in the lobby to check your email. The restaurant was a fortune that was affiliated with the hotel.I would highly recommend this comfortable hotel. " more

Staff was friendly 5/3/2011

This was a nice Hotel. We stayed here two nights on our Alaska vacation. Nice free breakfast. Staff was friendly. Rooms clean. Good location. We took the Stan Stephens Glacier Cruise and the Best Western was located next door to the loading area. Would stay here again. more

This is a good place to stay 5/2/2011

We had a harbor view room on the second floor. The room itself seemed a little dated but was clean and of a decent size. There was a coffee maker, iron, fan (no air conditioning), microwave, and refrigerator in the room. The continental breakfast was better than most with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy in addition to the typical cold cereal and toast.This is a good place to stay in Valdez especially if you have a toursaver discount. I'm not sure I would pay the extra money for the harborview room if we stay there again. more

nice, clean, well run 4/28/2011

We stayed at the Best Western Harbor Inn for three nights and found it to be a nice, clean, well run property in a good location. We came into Valdez on the ferry and the staff at the front desk allowed us to check in a little early. When I made the reservation back in April, I spoke to someone on the phone who told me I could make the reservation online and still use my toursaver coupon (stay one night get one free). Apparently this was incorrect because when I was checking in I was told I had to make the reservation over the phone. When I explained what happened, I was allowed to use the coupon. I thought this was very nice because they had every right not to give me the discount. more

view from room 201 is beautiful 4/28/2011

We had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful hotel for the 2nd time. A phone call to the manager guranteed us the same room we had enjoyed for our daughter's wedding two years ago. The view from room 201 is beautiful ( the best in my opinion) . This hotel is only steps from anything you could want to do in Valdez. Scott and his entire staff couldn't have been more perfect hosts and hostesses. There is a fantastic restaurant and lounge downstairs...outstanding meal selections...and wonderful servers. If your travels bring you here, don't miss the opportunity to stay at this wonderful hotel. more

Always a pleasure to stay here 4/27/2011

I travel to Valdez several times a year and stay here as often as I can. The rooms are always clean and tidy. The staff has always been very helpfull with directions and suggestions about the local resturants and attractions. It has new management and they are making some really good improvement and upgrades. The free breakfast is second to none. Always a pleasure to stay here and I bring my family a couple of times a year also. more

5th stay in 4 years 4/27/2011

This is my 5th stay in 4 years and I have seen many changes from the management to the remodel and I have to say they have proven to be the best thing to happen to this hotel. The staff is attentive they try to see to your every need. The free cont. breakfast is top notch. The new Managers Scott and Debra are always on hand to help you with what you need. Rooms, public areas and staff have all had a major face lift and this place still has the best views in Valdez. My friends and I will always stay at this hotel. Thank you more

Better service than many 4 star hotels 4/21/2011

Friendly, caring, helpful staff. Better service than many 4 star hotels. Building was being worked on, but already better than many mid-level hotels. Lobby was warm & cheerful. Couch area was very Alaska motif. Rug was wonderful to see. Like home but in 4 hotel. Breakfast not fancy but done well and well presented-other places should take lessons from this one! more
