I just picked up my car from Belmont Auto Center. My VW Jetta was shuddering on idle (check engine light on) , and I thought it might be one of the ignition coils or spark plug. Went to Firestone at 7am and they're trying to charge me $100 for computer diagnostic and I said NO so I went to autozone and they checked it for free, they told me all 4 coils are bad and I need to change them (I didn't believe them because all 4 of them?), went home and searched for auto repair around my area (I just moved to Watertown).\r I went there and Victor checked my car, within a minute he found the problem and it was a vacuum line, that connects to the engine (only costs $65 for the part and 55 for labor, compared to changing the coils for $85 each plus the spark plugs and labor) and it causes to missfire. It only took him 30 minutes to change it.\r Victor was honest. It's very hard to find a very good mechanic like him, I'm definitely gonna go back to him whenever I have car problems.\r more

Belmont Auto Center is the best!!!!!!!!!!!! 11/17/2011

I really, really appreciate the level of service I've gotten at Belmont Auto Center. I've gone twice in the past two years and have had really good experiences both times. The guy has always explained things clearly and provided options for service and pricing. I don't feel pressured to get anything ""extra"" and feel comfortable asking him for his advice on when/how to address whatever is up with my well-loved Toyota. There was a minor issue with the invoice following my last time visit -- as soon as I called and explained what happened Victor addressed and fixed the situation. I wouldn't (and don't) hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy mechanic in Watertown. more

The BEST I have met in years 8/20/2011

This the best - I recommend this place UNCONDITIONALLY to any one who would like to get his/her vehicle fixed. He is honest, courteous, understanding and above all does a superb work at an extremely reasonable cost. I wonder even a fraction of car mechanics maintain this sort of work ethics and professionalism! I have the highest admiration for these guys - particularly Victor. - D.R. Friendly, fairly priced, honest. 8/20/2009

When my mother lived with me, we used to take her car to this place. She is disabled and they would always treat her right. They would often not charge my mom for the little things. I used to take my 1998 Subaru Outback to the dealer when I lived in NH. Somersworth, NH had the best Subaru Dealership I have ever been to. When I moved to Watertown, I went to the Dealership in Belmont but they were horrible: always had an attitude, always the highest prices, and their repairs often led to more costly repairs in the same area of the car. So, I decided to take my car to Belmont Auto Clinic after I saw how well they treated my mom. I have had a few high-cost repairs but they were all due and I was not surprised. I called around a bit afterward to compare prices and found that I had been given a good deal. After each repair, I didn't experienced another problem with that part of the car again. It has been 2.5 years since my last repair and my car is still running strong. I have been going to this place for oil changes, inspections and tune-ups ever since. The technician is always very friendly and appreciative of my business. He will take the time to point out to me anything that looks like it may soon need to be replaced but can wait. He has saved me some money by letting me know what can wait for now and what was really necessary. This is now the only garage I will go to. I try to give them my refueling business whenever I can as well. (edited: fixed some typos) Pros: Quick, thorough, repairs are always final. Cons: Busy lot. Sometimes no parking. more

These guys are the best & fairly priced...I have had 3 major jobs done on my 2005 Audi, all have come in under the dealer and quoted prices. This includes timing belt work. If you have any type of car I highly recommend these guys. Ask for victor, I have always felt satisfied with how he explains exactly what I am paying for. Pros: thumbs up more

Best automotive repair shop, great service 10/21/2006

After I went to two other honda dealers, my freinds recommended me to take my car to Belmont Auto Clinic. So, as I took their advice, I took my honda accord to Belmont Auto Clinic. Before I had gone to Belmont Auto Clinic, the two other dealers wasted my 800 dollars, and couldn't find the problem I had spent weeks looking for. When I had taken my car to Belmont Auto Clinic, they quickly (in 2 hours) found the intermitend problem, and were able to fix my car for under $100. In my opinion, Belmont Auto Clinic, is the cheapest and most courteous sevice station. Pros: Fast Sevice, convienient, courteous more

I wouldn't go there again. 8/18/2006

I had a problem with my car and took it to Belmont Auto Clinic. They kept trying to fix it but kept failing. I brought it back three times, hoping they wouldn't charge me for the previous times since it wasn't fixed. They did charge me-- $1000 total! And it never was fixed. I took it to my dealer and they fixed it in a day. more
