Shimmy it off!!! 3/17/2010

I love ""working out"" here! I have attended all three studios and love them all! There are many varieties of classes that any female can attend. The Little 5 points studio has a great atmosphere and I feel like I can shake my groove thang there. I love the Perimeter studio because it has a LOT of space and of course a lot of clothes to buy!!! YAY clothes! I love the Windy Hill/Smyrna location because it is very bright and cheerful! The teachers at these studios are amazing. They really empower women to be comfortable with themselves physically and emotionally. I have truly come out of my shell here! And not only being empowered....I have lost weight too!!! Thank you!!!!? Pros: All Female Environment Cons: nothing?!?!?! more

best place to learn to dance! 3/17/2010

They have three locations, so no matter where you live around Atlanta, one is always a short drive away. Classes are on almost every day of the week, where you can come during lunch, late afternoon on weekends, or evening classes ranging from 6pm to 8 pm start times, and begin frequently. There are three basic types of classes: choreography, where you learn a dance in six sessions; technique, where you learn a lot of the fundamental technique of bellydancing and each class you put some small combination to music, and walk in and workout, where you can work up a sweat while looking cute and jingling the coin sash, which really doesn?t feel like working out but you are drenched in sweat by the time it?s over. 2. This studio is great not only for dancing, but also for shopping! I have blown quite a few paychecks here because of all the gorgeous stuff available! They have all kinds of cute coin sashes, belly dancing wear, caftans, sword, candles and any other props that professional belly dancers use, at very reasonable prices. In order to begin, just come to a class (check the website), get any kind of hip scarf with coins in it, and you are on your way to learning new moves and burning calories. Dancing here is a huge confidence booster, and the hour flies by so quickly that every time, you wish that you could stay longer (and you can ? some classes are back to back!) With only $50 for a six week class if you register three days before the deadline, this is the cheapest place with the highest quality around. The teachers do not waste time and try to do the least amount possible?they will have you working hard within the first two minutes after stretching. Pros: learn to dance like a pro and burn fat Cons: some classes you want to take may overlap more

Best belly dance classes in Atlanta! 3/15/2010

I'm kind of shy, so I was really hesitant about taking belly dance classes. But after a couple minutes at this studio, I changed my mind. They make it really easy for you learn and feel comfortable about trying all the new moves (and tying up your shirt so you can see your belly in the mirror). I started taking classes at Nazeem Allayl in 2009 and since then I've been hooked. I've tried taking classes at other studios, but theirs is the best. The teachers are funny and they break the moves down in a way that's easy to understand. Belly dance isn't always easy, but even when I'm having a rough time the teachers make me feel good about myself. Pros: great teachers, fun classes Cons: only one week day class more

Fun! 3/14/2010

After researching belly dancing in Atlanta for a couple of years, my schedule finally opened up enough for me to try this studio. I really liked that the Windy Hill location was so close to me but I could also take classes at other locations if I wanted to. I started with a beginner choreography class so I'd have something to show for my 6 weeks and loved it!! The instructor was perky, fun, and helpful if anyone was having problems with a move. There is also a plethora of beautiful items to buy which is the only reason I listed the fact that they don't take credit cards as a ""con""...then again it keeps me from buying up everything I see and being able to stick to my budget. ;) Pros: Great instructors, 3 locations, variety of classes Cons: Parking at L5P, no CC's more

Awesome! 9/28/2006

Great dancers & classes! I highly recommend not only their classes but also seeing them at Nicola's on the weekends. more
