Thank goodness we were there for the early dinner specials otherwise I would have been even more disappointed. The oil that was served with bread wasn't very good and the entrees weren't very memorable. I had the veal parmesan and my husband had the sausage and angel hair pasta. The sauce seemed like it was out of a jar, not much flavor. Don't waste your money. Check out Sugo's Restaurant around the corner instead. more

Sub-par on a good night 4/21/2010

On a sunny Wednesday afternoon at lunch hour, would you not expect a restaurant with a nice interior and good patio seating to be relatively full. Well, before I pulled up, that's exactly what I had in mind. Then, things started to go down hill. I walk in with my dining partner, to find an absolutely empty restaurant. The waitress/hostess (yes, she had to play two roles. I'll let you be the judge of what that says about their expectations of the lunch crowd) stood up happily, and with a warm smile asked us if we would like to sit inside or outside on the patio. We chose to eat outside, and were seated in a large and well maintained patio dining area. After a quick perusing of the menu, we decided on the Fried mozzarella rounds as an appetizer. Not so much appetizing as it was a foreshadowing of what was to come. I can honestly say that I have had better frozen cheese sticks. Somehow they managed to rid the mozzarella of any and all flavor. We then ordered our entrees. I had the Chicken Parmigiana pasta dish, and my dining partner had a grilled chicken breast with tomato, basil, mozzarella, and a side of home made green beans. When I ordered my meal, I was told it would be served with a HOME MADE marinara sauce. Both chicken breasts were rubbery and flavorless. I also had the pleasure of finding two veins through my chicken. I then ate some of the undercooked pasta, with the orange colored oil they try to pass off as marinara sauce. I decided to forgo trying my dining partners chicken, but did elect to have a green bean. It tasted suspiciously of fish. Then we realized we weren't going to get bread, so we asked for some. It came with a side of what tasted and looked like canola oil, which did very little to moisten the stale loaf that managed to cut my mouth. The entire experience had no redeeming qualities about it, save the waitress/hostess. She was pleasant and apologetic for any mistakes. This ""restaurant"" will get my vote, my vote for worst Italian I've eaten that is. Pros: In accordance with ""Lozo"", the ice is indeed cold. Cons: Just about everything. Parking, food, prices more

Cheap excuse for an Italian restaurant 4/21/2010

Been there twice and in my book two strikes and you're out. The food seems precooked. the chicken is so dry and the portion is very small. The pasta was rare (rarely cooked) and the jar sauce disappoints. At least you can fall back on or hold yourself up by the very stale bread. (but you have to ask for it). Pizza is soggy with a tasteless crust. They just might get their crust from Dominoes. Too many decent places to spend your money on than to waste it here! Pros: Ice is cold Cons: Horrible food. more

The most delicious pizza in Atlanta and possibly anywhere! 12/28/2009

My wife and I grew up eating great pizza in the NYC, Long Island, & Jersey Shore. We moved to Atlanta years ago and finding Bella Italia is a gift to us pizza snobs. Thin crispy crust, fresh ingredients, the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, delicious pizza sauce. In a strip mall in Marietta, don't let the unassuming location and d?cor fool you The Margarita w/fresh basil, fresh mozzarella & fresh tomatoes is amazing. Worth the drive from wherever you live if you want real NY style pizza. Pros: Ridiculously delicious pizza, very family friendly Cons: You're not paying extra for the decor (which is also a pro) more
