My family and I love this restaurant. I've eaten here for 40 years and anyone who doesn't enjoy this food simply does not appreciate southern cooking. NC, WS, and even WFU will never be the same if it ever closes. Great southern home cooking, lots of food at low low prices. Everyone who loves real food loves this place. Go for the food and for the history. Black and white, rich and poor have enjoyed it together for over 50 years!!! Pros: Down home real Southern cooking! Cons: It's in an out of the way location. more

The line moved quickly & the food is great! My family loves going there after church every Sunday & Wednesday! Banana Pudding is just like grandma's! Pros: plenty of food for the money! Cons: none more

my BIL took our family here while we were visiting to give us a down home southern experience. i must say the whole place looked pathetic. it's in a weird run down strip mall and the interior is so dirty and smoky. i would bet my life that the highchairs have never been wiped down other then the occasional parent doing the job. the dishes were dirty as was the cutlery. i couldn't actually bring myself to eat anything other than a corn muffin. after the whole experience i went through a drive thru for dinner. my husband said the food was very greasy. i will not be back to this restaurant unless there is prize money involved. Pros: lots of food, little money Cons: dirty, dirty and dirty more
