Beckenstein Fabric

I went to Beckenstein Fabrics because one of my friends recomended me they had a custom sofa made that lookes Great. When I walked in the customer service was amazing they were all eager to help and very knowlegable. I went in for ideas and walked out with and order for a custom upholstered bed. They took my drawing and Idea and made it happen. The price was too good to pass up and the fabric selection is outragous. I am so happy with the results. It looks amazing!!! I cant wait to go back and remodel my livingroom. Thank you Beckensteins for making my Idea a reality. more

Absolutely THE place to go for everything design - they have a huge selection of amazing fabrics, trim, wallpaper and pretty much anything you could dream of. They do it all here with a great attention to detail and are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and nice. In addition to always doing a great job - I've used them for years - I think their prices are extremely reasonable. I recommend Beckenstein to all my family and friends and everyone has been thrilled. The BEST in town! more

They quoted me one price when I went to look at fabric, then quoted a much higher price when I placed the order. They promised completion before memorial day, five weeks later they delivered. When I went to pick up the chair cushions I asked for the managers name. The woman wouldn't tell me. She was so rude. I can't imagine using them again. more

Just wanted to share my experience at Beckenstein's. Shopping for new fabric is not my idea of fun; lets start there..all those fabrics are just overwhelming.. and making a choice that must be lived with for years is fraught with tension.. the price, the color..what if the wrong one is chosen?? uh oh... Anyway, before heading to Beckenstein, I had gone to a couple of different stores; one in particular is "supposed " to be an excellent place for discount prices on better fabrics.The others were touted as full of bargains and great selection. Lets just say, none of them lived up to thier reputation. The uptown store had a snobby attitude.NO ONE would help..they did me a favor by even talking to me. The other places had really mediocre selections. Now, lets talk about Beckenstiens..the minute I walked in, I knew this was a different kind of store.One of the employees greeted me at the desk and directed me to a wonderful salesman.. That salesman was well versed and patient.He listened to me and guided me thru the selection process.. Helped me to understand which fabrics would be correct..I got the same attention as the Decorator next to me ,who was spending considerabley more money. Beckenstiens is an establishment that understands the value of the consumer.That people must be treated well..Each and every person that walks thru the door is as important as an individual.I would and will recommend my friends because of the positive experience more

I'm new to the city and I've heard many wonderful things about Beckenstein from several friends in the design trade. Mind you, this move is a fresh start for me so I had a lot on my list of things to do/get. I walked in to ask about drapes and shades for my new place (as I didn't have any furniture to upholster, that was next on my list). Before I knew it I was talking about custom sofas, chairs and headboards. Long story short, I walked out the same day with shades and drapes, a new livingroom and bed (with headboard). About a month later (actually, 3 weeks and 4 days later) everything was delivered and installed. The craftsmanship is EXQUISIT!!! I'm SOOOO happy I went to Beckenstein's FIRST!!! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND Beckensteins!!!! Pros: GREAT STAFF, INNOVATIVE, THOROUGH & PHENOMINAL WORK!!! Cons: None more

I am very pleased with the service received. The shirts and suits are perfectly tailored to my precise requests. What prompted me to write a review has been the numerous compliments I've been receiving while wearing beckenstein clothes. Which to me is the best recommendation. more

ordered custom made sofa from beckenstein. it arrived with a pungent awful odor. beckenstein promised to replace all 4 cushions, new. received "new" cushions, which are in fact the old ones. i had marked the inside of each and sure enough the marks are there still. they lied to me. buyer beware!!! one of the worst consumer experiences i have had. would not recommend them to anyone. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. The reupholstering of my chair and ottoman was done in a timely fashion and the workmanship far exceeded my expectations. I originally chose them because of their longstanding excellent reputation and their very fair price. Highly recommend this company. Pros: fabulous reupholstering job and great staff! I cannot even begin to describe the fabulous experience at Beckenstein Fabrics and Interiors. Customer service? Fabulous. Fabrics? Beautiful. Deliver? Quick as a bullet. Quality? Superb. I fully 100% recommend this place for anyone looking for well-priced beautiful pieces for their home. I jjust received a reupholstered a sectional couch from Beckensteins and Im in Heaven It had be given to me by a friend. I stopped by Beckensteins and showed them a phone pix I took. I asked them how much it would be to restuff the cushions with Down and feathers and upholster it.The price sounded great and then John my salesman helped me find a fabric from their inventory that matched my Carpet.My room now needs something on the windows which will be my next Beckenstein project. more

This place is amazing.It's a one stop shop for all your decorating needs.They have experienced and friendly sales staff to guide you through thousands of fabric samples.My friend recommended them to me and i'm so glad i found them.The work they do is amazing. I went in the store with my wife and kids and we were looking for a sofa and draperies. To be honest I wasnt planning on going there but as we passed by the store we decided to go in and check out the store.The selection was overwelming and at first we got confused and thought that it would be impossible to make a choice. That was untill the sales person aproached us and after listening to our ideas started to bring out books and ideas of sofas and window treatments. To top it all off our children were very inpatient and made it hard but the slaes lady on the floor kept them busy with coloring books and they were having so much fun. Anyway to make a long story short we saved a lot of money shopping there and the service was trully amazing. They even made armcovers for the sofa (something that I never ordered ) to protect the arms from our little ones. I trully recomend these people and will recomend to all my friends Pros: prices are very fair Cons: none more

I recently ordered a sectional couch from the NY fabric store, Beckensteins. The extremely fair, honest and patient owner made suggestions as to which pieces to order to fit my needs. When my furniture arrived, exactly two weeks later as promised, I was absolutely thrilled with the results! It transformed my family room as there is now room for me to hang out with my kids and their friends. We all fit comfortably with room to spare! I'm so glad I listened to the owners suggestions on the size and depth of the cushions. I may have picked something smaller which would not have been as comfortable for us. The furniture is perfect for us and I will only use Beckensteins in the future! Thanks to the owner, Garry Greenberg, and his wonderful, friendly sales staff for your help! I'll be back! more

My favorite place to get my couches redone. I always get them back in a extraordinarily short amount of time, done fabulously. To sum it up; beautiful fabrics, wonderful staff, by far the best upholstery in the city. Pros: lovely staff, quality, fast work Cons: none! more

Beckenstein has been by far one of the best fabric and interior companies ever to exist within the tristate area. Its location is convienient! Right on fifth Ave! And my mother loves their Duralee Fabric!! She and I both agree that they provided the best customer service with such friendly, helpful and welcoming employees. Definitely Stop by!!
