Great for Teens 1/10/2012

I go to this Church, and I have been going my whole life and it's a great Church if you have teens, or are one. Most the teens that come once can't stop coming. :) Were a smaller Church, but we welcome anyone ready to become member of a church or just to visit. Hope to see ya here :) Also, I am in the youth group and we have had a lot of awesome times together <3 more

not just a church, a church home 10/22/2009

BBC is like a second home for my husband and I and our four children. The worship services are encouraging. The pastor speaks from his heart and from a deep commitment to the Lord. It is always so obvious that God is using him to draw us closer. I never have to worry about my children...they are safe and happy from the nursery up through elementary age. Sunday evening life groups have given us a great chance to connect with other members we were not close to before. God is doing great things at Baymeadows! Pros: easy to connect with other people, lots of places to serve Cons: can't think of any more

Going down, and fast 7/13/2009

1. What the director is missing in brains, she makes up for in blind optimism. 2. The assistant director lacks the ability to type, or even complete a full sentence. Notices sent home and to staff are spelled incorrectly, and with poor grammar. 3.On more than one occasion, my children have come home saying that the K-2 aid has physically grabbed, snatched, or popped them. Upon the director hearing about this, the K-2 aid denied any wrong doings, and was allowed to continue working with the children. 4. Another K-2 teacher was caught manhandling the children, and will admit to doing so, and was simply moved to the kitchen. 5. The school is not making enough to pay basic maintenance bills, and so took money from the bus fund (that parents paid), making it impossible for K-4 to finish out the years field trips. 6.Last years Spanish teacher often got help from a kindergartner because she didn't actually know Spanish. 7.Tech lab was not up most of the year, even though it was promised in the curriculum that the parents paid for. 8. 3 of the academy teachers last year did not have teaching degrees, 2 of them had no degrees at all. 9.There are rodents dead in the walls 10.The water fountains are broken. One of the K-3 teachers will instruct children to go to the bathroom, and get water from the sink with just their hands. 11. The administration gossip about the parents and who does and does not pay their bills. 12.The director told a 2 year old who pulled down another 2 year old's pants, that he should wait for marriage to do those kinds of things. 13.The teacher's are expected to buy everything for their classes on their own. 14. Everything from the first two reviews is absolutely true. As a parent, and employee, I would agree wholeheartedly. Take your children and run! Pros: Children will learn about God Cons: From hypocritical, immoral staff more

dont waste the gas 7/15/2008

Me and my family were members for quite a few years and found the ""preacher"" to be a phony.\r He seemmed never to be prepared on sundays and I think he plagerized his sermons from somebody.\r It seemed that his family thought they were royalty and only talked to you if you looked good or waited on them . i got sick of his college football stories and his poor work ethic. Overall I would not recommended\r this cult to anyone looking for a church home Pros: made alot of friends that we love Cons: celebrated the Lords Supper twice in seven years their more

Damaging to a child's psyche, get your kid out of here 6/16/2008

I had a sit down with the director to discuss things that I've seen in the short time we were enrolled. \r 1) the day we visited to check out the facility. \r -seemed wonderful, happy kids- they were in the middle of a last day of school fair\r -1 small red flag was a teacher that turned to a boy throwing paper & said ""you better stop it or I'm gonna beat choo up."" She was smiling but it was inappropriate to say to a 4 year old. I figured it was her personality & she may be a sweet person. The kids seemed to like her. I did see another issue with her though: I heard her say ""ya'll better shut up."" \r 2) there are several middle eastern kids in the class. They're ignored on the playground. On several occasions I've put a little girl onto a swing as she is left to do it herself. When the kids are lined up they are noticelably treated like a nuisance. Specific Ex: The older of the 2 teachers introduced a withdrawn little boy to the other one saying this is ""X"" he's a problem, he likes to strike people. She embarrassed him in front of 17 kids & roughly pushed him to the back of the line. The kid doesn't get a chance to have a fresh start to the day.\r 3) Saw this teacher have a mini melt down at a H2O fountain & yell at the ""stupid thing"" in front of the kids \r Director told me that she would likely begin the process of moving the older teacher back to the 3 yo, her prior position. She suggested her forte may be in the younger age group. It was encouraging that the director was willing to discuss this. I do wonder what is being said & done when there are no parents around. Pros: Proximity to Home, rates Cons: crass teachers, wtihdrawn kids more

The warmest church I've ever visited 1/22/2008

I actually disagree with the negative opinions posted on this church. My family was welcomed the day we first visited the church. We had so many people welcoming us that we couldn't keep everyone straight! I know that church is not about enjoyment, per se, but I find myself enjoying my church experience from the opening to the invitation. The music really prepares my heart for the message. The message is poignant. Granted, not everyone wants to hear Biblical principles related to certain issues, but the pastor's job is not to make you happy in your sin, either. From my experience, I would say that the children and teen workers have a real heart for the kids they work with. I've never seen the kids or teens leave their Wednesday night services without a smile on their faces. God is definitely at this church. Pros: The Bible is preached unabashed at every service Cons: Haven't come across one yet more

Best Baptist Church in town 1/22/2008

If you like being home, then this is the church for you. Being in church makes you feel like you are home. Friendly socialble people who love to care about you. The pastor is not ashamed of his beliefs and preaches nothing but the truths from the gospel. Yes that's right. He preaches from the Bible with no alterations. If you want to learn about the Bible and what God has planned for us then join in on Sunday mornings at 10:15am Pros: Preaches nothing but the TRUTH Cons: I haven't found any but I know something is there....No One is perfect more

Old Plank Road Baptist Church 10/11/2007

I would have to agree that Old Plank Road Baptist Church has many many problems. And while I see the problems in the church. I believe that if God had put you in a church like that for a reason, then you shouldn't walk away from the problem. You should do your best to confront the situation. If you had a best friend or close family member who had a problem you wouldn't just walk away b/c you didnt agree with them, no you would do everything you could to help them realize their mistakes and show them through God's word where it is sin. The same with this church. And really if you have a problem with the cliques in the church. Then let me ask this question. Why are you going to church in the first place?? Is it nothing but a social club to you?? Or do you go to worship and learn more about God? Because if you are trying to find a church to worship God in that doesnt have any problems, then you need to wake up from your dream, b/c even trying to be a REAL Christian in this world is hard. So we better get used to it. more

waste of time 9/9/2007

Like the church so is the school, dont bother. more

More of a cult then a church 9/9/2007

I agree with pongo4385, they church developed more into a cult status, if you didnt belong you where shuned and not associated with. If that is what church is supposed to be like I wont go again. Very rude, very unfriendly people. Dont bother with this one. Pros: none i could think of Cons: unfriendly, rude etc more

dont go to this church 11/25/2005

a very group centered church, if you dont belong to the group then you are an outsider. I was a member for quite a few years, but since I wasnt in the ""in"" crowd I was ignored. My best advice is to not attend this church at all. Dont waste your time. more
