Barong & Formal

I ordered 6 custom-made barongs from Barong and Formal in Carson. Not only were they a month late in delivering them, but when we went to pick them up, they switched the designs on two of them, and only 1 really fit correctly. The owner apparently had taken our measurements to the Philippines and had then made there, which would be fine except that he the tailors there use different measurements! He also asked them to add several inches to all the lengths. Again, this would be OK if he agreed to fix them once they came back to the US. However, after a long, heated debate with him he did not agree to do so, and we ended up paying an extra $34 on top of the $650 we already paid upfront. On top of all this, the store seemed very disorganized. They did not keep good records of our order; they did not write down any agreements. The owner was not friendly and not customer-oriented. We will never do business there again and would not recommend this place to anyone! more

My father had been wanting a barong tagalog for a long time and I thought I would surprise him and buy him one for his birthday last year. A friend of mine told me about Barong & Formal so I made a special trip there with my sister. They have a large selection of barong tagalogs. I was able to find one that my father really loved. more

In my adult life I've only worn one barong and I bought it here. The owners and workers are very nice and help you out a great deal. Their selection and quality of goods is unmatched (then again, I've never been to another store that sold barongs). For those who are unfamiliar with Filipino clothing, the barong is the OFFICIAL dress up shirt to wear. They've got plenty of vibrant colors to spice up the usual plain white barong. more
