Ok, after a 3 month hiatus for a ""vacation"" this restaurant reopened. My wife and I expected all kinds of new renovations and maybe a step beyond the mediocrity of its dinner offerings of before. The changes we found were instead disappointing. The soup offerings were more than we remember, but that is the only improvement or change beyond offering alcohol that we found.
Our waitress (none of which wears name tags, which we can understand after being there) did not have our drinks OR the silverware on the table when we returned from our first visit to the table. We waited several minutes before my wife decided to go to the waitress and inform her. The waitress told her to ""wait a second"" and we waited another 3. She also never smiled, never came to ask if we needed anything, never came to take dirty dishes away, except for when we had gone for our second round, not 10 minutes after we first arrived, and she had TOTALLY cleared the table. We AGAIN had no silverware or drinks and waited ANOTHER 3 or 4 minutes to have them brought to us.
As for the food, the choices were more limited than I have ever seen with very little in the way of vegetables and in fact most of the table items were meats and fish and some variation of potatoes.
Needless to say, Barnhills has worn out the welcome mat and we will just wait until Golden Corral reopens. I just hope the same fate doesn't await us on that occasion.
