After my experience with other boarding places, I have to encourage anyone wanting to board their dogs to go to BHV. The dogs are impeccably taken care of. The owners and staff care about the dogs so much that it really shows. The staff is always with the dogs, interacting with them, playing with them and making sure they're supervised in the yards. They know most of the dogs by name.
Different from other boarding facilities, the dogs have their own space to relax in during breaks and at night, which makes them much calmer and a lot more comfortable. The staff is there from 6:45 or 7am to 9pm, and taking the dogs out to use the restroom is the first and last thing they do each day. Accidents are cleaned up right away, and especially important for Texas heat, they are ALWAYS making sure the dogs have water. Senior dogs, post-surgery dogs, special needs dogs, or extremely nervous dogs are taken out by themselves to play one-on-one with a staff member. The dogs really seem to enjoy it there. My dog was extremely nervous but he loves it. You can tell when a person has an extreme love for animals, and unlike some other places, every employee has that in spades.
Pros: Staff, care, rooms
Cons: play yard size
