Editorial review from Citysearch 1/5/2014

Amazing surgeon with outstanding skill, confidence and professionalism. Needed two surgeries to correct my strabismus and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. If you are looking for an eye surgeon, this is your guy. Thanks Dr. B! more

Amazing! 11/17/2011

First off I want to say WOW. My daughter is now 8 years old and has had surgery twice due to strabismus. Nothing more traumatic than a child going under. Although, Dr. Bardorf is not one for conversation, he did an amazing job and corrected (preformed surgery) with little to no complications. Let me back up, my daughter had this surgery when she was 1 1/2 years old, and Kaiser Permanente performed the surgery the first time... needless to say they butchered her. Her eyes were swollen for days, and bloody for about a week. The experience is not one I like to remember. Dr. Bardorf did an AMAZING job with little to no swelling at all, my daughters eyes are now perfectly straight. So thank you! I recommend Children's Eye Physician without hesitation. ~Monica more

I've Been Very Happy 11/4/2010

I was referred here 3 years ago for my 3 yr old's Strabismus. They receive 5 stars for always getting her to cooperate through all of the testing. The staff was pleasant and very good with children. Dr Bardorf explained the condition and treatment plan and to my surprise, to date he has avoided costly surgery for this. We've gone at least 8 times and never had a wait past 15 minutes. I've also never had a bill other than my co pay. more

Great Practice but Crummy Experience 6/30/2010

I expected to hear bad news when I took my 16-month-old son in to have his eyes checked but what I did not expect was a completely cold reception by the doctor. He did not explain why my son got the diagnosis he did, how he came to that conclusion, what that meant for my son and was not sympathetic to what this news meant for ours and our son's life. I was very disappointed. He may be good and have awards, but nothing makes up for lack of good communication with patients and their families. I will be going somewhere else where my inherent questions are answered without great probing and we're treated with respect. Pros: High tech gear really get the kiddos to do what they need Cons: Poor bedside manner and communication with patient more

The best in Colorado 3/2/2010

Dr. Bardof has been caring for my child with Glaucoma for two years now. We have have gone to the best eye physicians in the world trying to get answers. Every one we talked to said Dr. Bardof is doing all the right things. He is caring, takes the time to do things right. Thus the long wait times at his office. Pros: Dr Bardof more

Terrible 5/28/2009

I agree with the other reviews. I repeatedly asked for a price range for the appointment and was not given one and led to beleive that it would be reasonable.....I was told that it is covered by the medical portion of my insurance. I indicated that I would like to know roughly how much it would cost, as I have a deductible on my plan and did not want be be stuck with a $300-$400 bill. The gal said that shouldn't be the case. The bill turned out to be $308 for an eye exam. The nurse was prompt, but then we waited almost an hour before the doctor came in. By that time, my kid couldn't focus. Neither the bill nor the wait time was reasonable in our opinion. The doctor was wishy washing with his answers...""maybe he has double vision, maybe it's because he is not paying attention...let's see him in about 3 months for a follow up"". We have to find another doctor. What a waste of time and money. more

BEWARE! 12/1/2008

These guys are deceptive about their insurance coverage. They are covered by Anthem's MEDICAL but not Anthem's VISION. If you take your kid in for a vision test you will have to pay for it out of your own pocket. Cons: deceptive office staff/policies more

Sour Experience 9/30/2008

I was referred to Childrens's Eye Physicians by my sons pediatrician, naturally I thought that they would provide great service. I made my 7mth old sons appointment the first appointment of the day (8AM) as anyone with an infant knows they do not have a lot of patience waiting around. and because I was told to plan on a 2 hour appointment. Check-in was fast and easy, the nurse who walked us back was very personable and great with my son. Now here is the part that soured our experience. After the nurse got us settled in she said she was going to get the doctor. We waited, looked at the wall art, waited, bounced, played peekaboo, bounced and bouced some more. After seeming like it was taking forever for the doctor to come in (I was the first appointment remember) I went and walked the halls to find someone. What I thought had only been 10-15 minutes, trying not to be too impatient was actually 45 minutes that we had already waited. I found a nurse to tell her I was just making sure a doctor would be in to see us, since we were new I did not know if waiting 45+ minutes was normal (did we still have 2 hours to go?) The nurse found the doctor and she came in the room right away and said she didnt know I was waiting. Im sorry? I dont understand why she did not check to see if she had patients at all that morning. I am glad I said something because who knows how long we would have been sitting there. She proceeded to do the exam and was having a hard time relating to my son to get his attention. I did not feel comfortable when I left the office that she knew what she was doing, she sounded hesitant in her answers and if/when we needed to make a follow up appointment. And I caught her here and there checking out herself in the mirror fixing her hair while trying to talk to me about my sons eyes. Very annoying to say the least! Very disappointed for lack of intelligence, waiting time and now having to get a second opinion. I hope others have better luck. Pros: Fast check-in Cons: The doctor more
