Barbosa's is the best place to eat for Mexican food. It is tottally awesome! Everytime I come back home, I have to make sure that I have time in my travel to stop in and have lunc...

Beautiful historic setting 12/6/2005

Ok, in my opinion the best part of this restaurant is the historic home that it is located in. I know that the majority of the people in town think this is the best mexican food available but I have eaten much better. The margaritas in my opinion were too sweet and the food was hot but not the most authentic tasting..... I have eaten ALOT of mexican food!! Some of my friends growing up had parents who still spoke spanish..... I have eaten the real thing. All in all, it is a good restaurant... but not my favorite! more

Love this place 8/18/2005

I love the food from this restaurant. Two locations. One is modern, the other a more historic setting. Adore the historic setting for dining out. Don't save it for a special event or celebration, just do it, just because. It's worth it. I do spend more time on the east side of St. Joseph, so the Frederick Avenue location of Barbosas is great for convenience for me. I love their beef tacos and frozen margarita. Doesn't get any better than that! more

Barbosa's Mexican restaurant is wonderful! They have great food that's all homemade! They even have carryout if you don't want to stay and eat. Gift certificates are also avaible. They have a wide range of Mexican foods from spicy to mild. Whatever your tastes are they have it! The building is built like an old 1880's castle. It looks straight out of Scotland. So even if you don't eat there at least go and look at the outside of the building as it really is something to see! more

Located in St. Joseph, Mo., it has been operational for more than 30 years.
