The place was ok. The food wasn't really all that great, the Chicken with Basil was the worst I've ever had, all you can taste was the basil and oil, the flavor of the chicken was...

On the bottom list of Thai places 10/19/2006

From the high rating and reviews I was excited to try this place. I ordered Tom Ka Gai (chicken Cocunut Soup) which I have ordered from many places. It tasted nothing like it. More like watered down chicken broth. The chicken itself was substandard. I had to scoop out the chicken because it was just gross. Our other dish - curry vegetables was just ok. Again very watered down and little flavor. Pros: Lots of seating Cons: Food, low quality, no flavor more

Yummy and tasty 10/16/2006

Many times, many years that I 've been to this place. Not just only the food is so delicious, also the service and the atmosphere. I always order yellow curry chicken (tasty), cashew chicken, kari-pop and lamb (so good). Have you try this restaurant yet? Pros: resonable, delicious, nice deco Cons: parking hard sometimes more

The owner gave me a Thai silk purse for my birthday and sing birthday song for me.I will be back again. I notice that they also do deliver. Highly recommend to you ! Pros: resonable price, nice service, good atmosphere Cons: delivery more

GREAT SPOT 9/11/2006

You won't be sorry here. The food is outstanding, the wait staff is very friendly and the menu has a wide variety. We love the vegetarian dishes, veggi rolls, som-tum, panang -pak, egg plant with tofu and pad thai. A lot of Thai rest. in SF, but Bangkok16 is the best. Highly recommended. Pros: nice and fresh ingredient, good price Cons: parking hard on weekends more

Happy Happy 8/24/2006

We love it. Found this place on citysearch and saw their menu is very interesting, we try their delivery and the food was so good and still warm. Red pumkin curry (delicious), papaya salad ( we ask for spicy, good), veggi pad thai, chicken fried rice and sticky rice with mango. The price is resonable and good service. Thank citysearch that list a nice restaurant for us. Pros: delivery, good food more

worst Thai food I've ever tasted 8/19/2006

Thought that I would try something different than my regular Thai restaurants. Saw a review on citysearch about Bangkok 16 and thought that it would be a good deal. Bad choice. First off do not ever forget to tip the delivery guy or he will give you a nasty comeback. Second, the food was not worth the price. I could have gotten Chinese food for better taste and cheaper price. The food that I ordered was very bland, no flavor, you name it. It tasted like really bad chinese food with coconut milk added. The curry pumpkin was highly recommend. I highly recommend that you avoid it. The lamb curry was tough to chew. Lamb cooked well is usually free of ""lamb"" smell. I knew right away that this was a bad choice as I could still smell the odor of the lamb. The spicy sour soup was not spicy nor was it sour at all. The hallmarks of Thai flavors were completely missing from the food or the combination just was not balanced. Head for other Thai restaurants as this one is a complete waste of money. more

My secret getaway 8/7/2006

What a great location! And such delicious food. The first time I stopped into Bangkok 16 I was walking from the Mission to see a show at the Castro Theater. Passing Bangkok 16, I checked out the menu in the window. So I popped into the restaurant for a quick meal before the movie. That was the start of a love affair. I've made it my personal challenge to try something new whenever I bring a friend. We're never disappointed.\r \r One dish I can never get enough of is Kanika's Special. It has tender lamb and eggplant. Sometimes they serve something I never see anywhere else: it's a curry served over an Indian Roti-style bread. The setting is intimate enough to serve as a great place to bring a date or a good friend. Conversation is never overpowered by room noise or loud music. Pros: Convenient to Mission and Castro more

Authentic, Variety and great service 7/31/2006

Found this listing thru citysearch. What a find! I had almost given up finding a decent thai place in my new neighborhood (noe-mission). GRRREAT! We didn't have a menu but the person who I talked to on the phone was very patient and gave very good recommendations, we stuck to the basics (chicken curry, pad thai and shrimp salad) and it was very good. Food delivered hot and under 25 mins. Good portions and the menu has over 100 items, good for vegetarians, spice lovers and low carb dieters. We are pretty picky thai eaters but this food definitely seemed like it had soul in it. Keep up the good work! Pros: Delivery, authentic, large variety more

I always feel at home at Bangkok 16 5/26/2006

San Francisco has so many Thai restaurants. One is so crowded you can't move your chair. Another is so busy it feels like a train station. There is a reason why Bangkok 16 remains in business for more than 15 years. They make you feel welcome, the food is satisfying, the service is unobtrusive and the menu is diverse. It's always a good sign when I leave a restaurant with a sense of well being. And Bangkok 16 always leaves me wanting more. Pros: Diverse menu, home cooking, comfortable Cons: parking more

Looking for the best thai food is here!! 5/20/2006

I 've been to Bangkok16 5 times in the last 2 months. They have a lot of different items, vegetarian, seafood, duck, chicken, beef and more. The food their is nice and fresh ingredients. If you want spicy (like me) or mild, they will do for you as you like, that why I love this place. My favorite is duck laab (crispy spicy), duck curry (the best), Pad Thai (so delicious) , guay-tiew-pad-ke-meo and veggie roll deep fried. Nice presentation and friendly service. Highly recommended!! Pros: nice deco, good food, friendly service more

Amazing Best Thai 5/1/2006

We have been dinner at Bangkok16 for over 16 years. The food is very delicious, great service and lovely atmosphere. They have a nice Thai Decor. Some of the food you can not find in the other Thai Rest. like Crepe with peanut sauce, lamb curry and a lot of vegetarian dishes to choose, that keep we coming back again and again. You also can get any dish spicy (like Thai people) or mild as you want. Don't forget to order dessert !! Highly Recommeneded. Pros: inexpensive, best food, delivery Cons: perfect, nice location more

We enjoy very very much, nice, clean, good food and inexpensive. We have Imperial Roll, coconut chicken soup (so good),fish with tamarind sauce and Pad Thai (the best). We definately be back again and again also want you to come and enjoy like us. Thank you TERRY and staff for the great service. Pros: nice deco, friendly, clean Cons: parking not bad more

If you don't mind tasteless runny curry... 3/18/2006

then this is the place for you. I ordered green curry with beef and eggplant. I got a container full of some runny green sauce, chicken, eggplant, and lots of flavorless veggies. I wonder if they used coconut milk at all. Not only was my order wrong, the food was awful. It wasn't spicy at all, and the rice was mushy. I'm really sad for those of you that love this place. There are so many better options. The pricce was great...but you get what you pay for. Not only was the food bad, but the delivery driver refused to deliver to my door. He called me on his cell phone, not using the buzzer at my door. I told him to buzz the door and I would let him in. He refused. He said I had to come out to the street. Pros: Cheap, Delivery Cons: Bad food more
