DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! 7/29/2008

I recently had the worst experience of my life at the Banfield clinic on Shepherd. My kitten was scheduled to be neutered on a Saturday. I was given an appointment card and called to confirm the appt. the day before the surgery. I showed up at 8am on Saturday and waited (as usual) for 45 min before I was told surgeries were not done on Saturdays. I asked for an explanation and they simply said, "I don't know, I could call and ask the vet but she'll be pis*ed." No one said they were sorry or offered an explanation. I spoke to the manager and she never apologized or tried to figure out how this happened. They simply behaved as if it was my fault that the appt. was scheduled wrong (I still have the appt card that the receptionist wrote out for me!!!). In the meantime, my cat was stressed out from being stuck in his carrier for over an hour. In addition to this, I found out later that my cat should not have eaten for 12 hours before surgery; however, no instructions were given to me about how I should handle pre-surgery. This is not my first issue with Banfield. Pros: NOTHING Cons: THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL! more

Expensive!! 11/14/2007

I took two kittens that had upper respiratory infections. $300 for exams (charged per kitten), de-worming and antibiotics. The receptionist actually charged me three times for de-worming. I didn't notice the overcharge until I got home, but it wasn't worth the effort of going back and trying to deal with the dim bulb who couldn't figure out the computer the first time I saw her. I think the prices are intentionally outrageous because they do a hard sell on their pet health care plan. I only went to Banfield because it was a Sunday. My previous experience at a different Banfield was disappointing. The other vet couldn't diagnose an upper respiratory in a cat that I had just adopted from the SPCA a day earlier and had sneezed right in his face. I probably would have paid less at the vet ER. more

I do not recommend 9/29/2007

I went to this Banfield to get my dogs a quick bordetella vaccination before they were boarded.. They tried to charge me $100 for a pet check-up my pets did not need and I did not ask for. The staff was not kind or polite to me. I felt like all they were interested in was my money. I will not be going back. more
