Never take your pet to Banfield 2/23/2011

Don't go to the Banfield in Apple Valley, California. One morning, I took my pet into Banfield to get her anal glads expressed. She was brought back to me bleeding. I spoke with Dr. Gonzales about the situation he denied that it was there fault. When I bought her into the hospital she wasn't bleeding. I would never have that Dr. Gonzales touch any of my pets again. By the way, whats up with that receptionist Vilma? Why does she act so fake? more

Banfield Services - Questionable! 6/24/2009

We've been going to this Banfield for quite a while now. We love our veterinarian (Dr. Nicole) however she was on leave and our dogs were having ear problems. She saved Scooby's life when she had pancreatitis and we truly respect and admire her. Unfortunately, we wanted to get them in so we took an appointment with an unknown vet at their facility. Just to save alot of ranting and aggravation, I was told during my dog's wellness check that she had a mass and that it was breast cancer. Well, after I picked myself up off the floor on that insensitive comment, I asked him to show me what he was talking about. My dog Scooby weighs 64 pounds so she was too heavy to pick up. We both crouched down on the floor (he never even put her on her back and examined her underside) and he told me to but my fingers around one of her nipples and that I would be able to feel a mass. I didn't feel anything and told him just that ... he then said to squeeze a little bit and I would feel it. I felt something more

Wow, 2 identical reviews... Not fake at all. 9/14/2008

If you don't mind the ridiculous prices, this is the place for you. I had several gripes at my Brea Banfield visit (I went on experimental vet visits in research for a suspicious small bump on my dog's head, this was one of them since my friend was conned into their "Optimum Wellness Plan" but wouldn't admit she's overpaying):\r \r 1. LIES about the "free" office visit on Tue/Thu!!! LIES! I was charged $45 dollars on a Tuesday, and when I asked about the "free Tue/Thu" deal I was told "That's for vaccines only."\r 2. This was told by the Unfriendly, unhelpful, noncaring front desk chicks who were chatting about their personal lives instead of doing their jobs.\r 3. The estimate I recieved was over $1,000--to cut the bump off and test it to see if it's cancerous--this is triple what I paid for at another vet. The list of things they wanted to charge me for the estmate was 3 pages long, and for everything they could think to charge you they were going to. (They also dared to tack on more

Banfield Hospital is in the PetSmart market. It makes it a convient location to visit. The doctors there really seem to care about your animals. They do not try to sell you services that are unwarranted. the front desk staff is friendly, but it does seem like they are always understaffed. more
