Good restaurant 12/7/2006

The first time I ate here, I had a hamburger and it wasn't good. The bun was dry and the beer battered fries weren't good as well. However, I heard the dessert was delicious, so I had to try it. Unfortunately I shared it, because it was delicious. Their signature dessert is basically a personal pizza sized pan cookie with ice cream on top. I had wanted to go back just to have the dessert. I went back recently and since I was going to have the dessert I tried to have a light meal. Oh, and the first time we had gotten some free appetizers and I didn't like any of them. This time I tried the half potato (already 3 times the size of normal potato) with the bacon and cheese topper. It came with a half salad, which was good but the potato was amazing! I finally ordered the dessert (with only one of the requisite two scoops of ice cream on top) and was disappointed. The cookie was overcooked and I didn't really even like the flavor this time. So basically this restaurant is hit and miss. It is also always crowded and the wait staff is just okay. more

Busy! 8/19/2006

I guess we're starved for new restaurants because this restaurant is still really busy after being open for almost a year. I had their hamburger which was okay, the beer battered fries were pretty bad, and the Chicago style pizza was okay, very Pizzeria Uno-like. The only reason to go to this place except to drink is to have their dessert, which is a little cookie-pizza in different types. It is great. Other than that, this place isn't worth the line. more

Food is okay, good bar, good dessert 3/24/2006

My friends and I went to try this out when it was new and we had a long wait, but after complaining (sort of) that we were hungry they gave us tons of free appetizers, so we got to try them all. I only was interested in the nachos, which were okay. I definitely wouldn't buy them, though. I ordered a hamburger, my standard meal, and it was also just okay. The fries weren't worth eating -- semi-breaded and middle sized. A friend had been there before and told us we had to try the dessert, with the weird name. (Pizza and cookie put together, I think. ) I was questionable, but we had it and it was really good. It's basically your choice of 3 or 4 cookie types (macadamia nut, chocolate chip, oatmeal) baked in a pan with ice cream on top. I'd go back just for the dessert. more

Good for a chain, always busy 3/20/2006

Sometimes busier than others. It opened in San Mateo (Bridgepointe) about 4 months ago and my friends and I went in the first week. The wait was like an hour and a half and they were working out the kinks, but they were also passing out free pizza to people who were waiting. We were a group of 10 and they comp'ed us on appetizers. The bruschetta and spinach artichoke dip are really good. The pizza is deep dish and somewhat greasy, but good. The children's pizza is just like regular pizza, but smaller. So often, even at a pizza place, the kid's pizza is a microwave and go thing. We usually go at lunchtime and it's busy, but the wait is less than 15 minutes. more
